Abstract

An agricultural machine has a cross beam supported by a wheel each end, with a line of vertical drive spindles suspended below it. Each drive spindle carries a ring (24) from which extends four radial arms (21) each carrying a curved digging tooth (22). Each spindle is supported by ball bearings (13) at the top and bottom. At the top of each spindle is a gearwheel, and the distance between the bearings is greater than the diameter of the gearwheel. Each radial arm (21) is made of flat strip, bent so that each tooth (22) is at an analge to the ground. Each tooth is similarly made of flat strip, bent into an arc, and formed into a point at each end. The tooth is secured at the centre by screws to the arm.
