Abstract

The mechanism is intended for taking a packing container (2) from a supply (1) and to open and shape it prior to filling, particularly for use with processed cheese. The mechanism includes a vertical magazine (1) for a supply of containers (2), first suction means (4-7, 8) which lift a container (10) from the supply, second suction means (15, 16) facing the first, and elements to move the suction elements apart to open the container. A stamper (17) moves between the first and second suction means, and conveyor belt (11) for packing boxes (18) arranged below the stamper. The arrangement is such that, when the stamper moves down, it enters the open container and moves it into the box below, where it is shaped following the box contours.
