Abstract

100319NL01 A inkjet printhead device (1, 1’) with improved reliability is provided. The device (1, 1’) comprises a plurality of droplet forming units, which each comprises a jetting nozzle (7) in fluid connection to a jetting pressure chamber (9) provided with an actuator (10) for generating a pressure change inside the jetting pressure chamber (9) forjetting a droplet of fluid from the jetting nozzle (7), wherein each jetting pressure chamber (9) is further in fluid connection to a respective inlet (14) and outlet (16) for providing a constant fluid flow through the jetting pressure chamber (9), characterized in that an upstream end of each inlet (14) is connected to a non-jetting pressure chamber (8), 10 which non-jetting pressure chamber (8) is further in fluid connection to a non-jetting nozzle (6) upstream of the jetting nozzle (7), wherein the non-jetting nozzle (6) tapers in a respective jetting direction (Z) and a tapering angle (A1) between a wall of the nonjetting nozzle (6) and a jetting direction (Z) is larger than the corresponding tapering angle (A2) of the jetting nozzle (7).
