Abstract

The present invention relates to a tampon for positioning in a body cavity, comprised of a tampon body comprising a fluid absorbing material and a packing for packing said tampon. The tampon is characterized in that said packing, when using said tampon, is stored in a removable manner at least partly within the tampon body. A sleeve may be provided for storing the packing during use of the tampon and from which the packing may be removed after use of the tampon. Removal of the packing is preferably obtained by means of a cord for removing the tampon from the body cavity.

Claims

A tampon for placement in a body cavity formed from a tampon body comprising a moisture-absorbing material and a package for the tampon, characterized in that the package is at least partially received within the tampon body during use of the tampon.

Tampon according to claim 1, wherein the package is at least partially included within the moisture-absorbing material.

Tampon according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the package is included entirely, or substantially completely, within the tampon body.

Tampon according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the package is connected to the tampon body with an end remote from an opening.

Tampon according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the package is connected to the moisture-absorbing material with a portion remote from an opening.

Tampon according to one of the preceding claims, comprising a cord for removing the tampon from the body cavity, which cord is adapted to close the package.

Tampon as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, wherein the package is coupled with a cord for removing the tampon from the body cavity, such that when exerting a force directed away from the tampon on the cord the package is removed from the tampon body .

8. Tampon as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, wherein the package is received in a sleeve, which sleeve is received within the tampon body.

Tampon according to claim 8, wherein the sleeve is made of a polymeric material, preferably polyethylene, polyurethane, teflon, silicone rubber or the like.

10. Tampon as claimed in any of the claims 8-9, wherein the package is connected to the sleeve by gluing.

Tampon according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the package comprises a polymeric material, preferably a silicone or natural rubber.

12. Tampon according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the package comprises a stretchable, preferably elastic material.

13. Tampon according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the package is connected to the tampon body by gluing.

14. Tampon according to one of claims 6-13, wherein the package in a first state, removed from the tampon body, comprises the cord at least partially on its inside and in a second state, the cord is folded on the outside included.

15. Tampon as claimed in any of the claims 6-13, wherein the package in a first condition, removed from the tampon body, comprises the cord at least partially on the outside thereof and in a second state, the cord on the inside folded around the tampon body included.

17. Tampon according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the package also forms a cord for removing the tampon from the body cavity after use.
