In het onderstaande wordt de kopse bevestiging beschreven van zes (of minder) buizen -eender van doorsnede, gericht op een gemeenschappelijk centrum M en op gelijke afstanden tot 5 hetzelve - aan een koppelstuk, dat een beperkte beweging van vier buizen toelaat, gelegen in een vlak loodrecht op een tweetal polair gerichte buizen. (Ts, Tö). Het koppelstuk bestaat doorgaans uit een tweetal in elkaar passende bandvormig-gesloten 15 kluisters Kv resp. Kr, met een bandbreedte z en materiaaldikte s, opvolgend vierkantig dan wel rechthoekig op doorsnede; de maatvoeringen zijn: Kv = (x, x; z, s) resp. Kr = (x-2s, x; z, s), zoals aangegeven in de Figuren 1 t/m. 6. De buizenparen (Pi, P2) en (T3,T4) zijn bevestigd aan Kv; het paar (Ts, Tó) aan Kr: via een zestal bouten, door vlakgecentreerde gaten in de wanden van Kv en Kr geschroefd in de bodems van cylindertjes die zijdelings in de buiseinden zijn bevestigd. The polar bolts act as the axis of rotation for the tube coupling.
