Table lamp with hi-fi speaker in the base.

The product is a table lamp that can be used traditionally and in which both the lamp and the lampshade can be free of choice. The base on which the lamp fitting is placed contains a hi-fi loudspeaker system of which the speakers are hidden from view by a grille. The whole is not recognizable as a loudspeaker box. The loudspeaker function can be used with any consumer sound system. The table lamp and the loudspeaker system are not interdependent in use and can function side by side without interference (claim page 3).

For the sake of clarity, the product is named lamp loudspeaker.

In the drawing, the grille (3) is partially cut out to show that the indicators are behind it. The lampshade (1) shown is indicative as it is free of choice. The material for the grille (3) is air-permeable.

The Speaker Terminal (10) is suitable for both banana plugs and stripped cabling. The light switch (12) is two-pole and thus disconnects both the phase and the neutral wire. The mains cable connection (13) is suitable for grounded device plugs. The connections of the loudspeaker and the mains are placed at a safe distance from each other and cannot disturb each other.

The fitting holder (2) and the hollow threaded rod (14) are grounded via the earth wire (fig. 5. 21). The separation filter (15) is mounted on the back plate (Fig. 3.11) and thus forms a complete module to which all electrical and electronic components are connected.

The mains cable (17) is 3-core and 0.75 millimeters squared per core and fully shielded. From the mains cable (17) the shielding sheath and the earth wire (21) go directly to the earth 20 on the mains cable connection (fig. 4. 13). This means that the entire lighting circuit is grounded. The mains cable (17) runs from the light switch (fig. 4. 12) via the rear wall of the housing (fig. 4. 6) through the hollow threaded rod (fig. 4. 14) to the fitting (fig. 4.5) . The loudspeaker cable (18) runs from the separation filter (fig. 4. 15) to the tweeter (fig. 4. 7). The loudspeaker cable (19) runs from the separation filter (fig. 4. 15) to the woofer (fig. 4. 8). The loudspeaker cable (20) runs from the inside-out loudspeaker terminal (fig. 3. 10) to the separation filter (fig. 4. 15). The earth wire (21) runs from the mains cable connection (fig. 4. 13) to the fitting (fig. 4).

Conclusion on operation of the lamp loudspeaker.

The base of the lamp loudspeaker is a forward-beam music-suitable two-way loudspeaker. The lighting section has a light radiation suitable for all traditional 5 lampshades. This makes the table lamp not recognizable as a loudspeaker. End of conclusion.
