Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for carrying out a torrefaction of biomass. said process comprises: heating a biomass at a predetermined heating rate in presence of a flowing gas at a predetermined temperature. wherein said predetermined heating rate is 10C/min and wherein said predetermined temperature is 200C to 300C and wherein said gas is a flue gas.
