Abstract
THE PRESENT INVENTION PROVIDES A COMPOSITION FOR TREATING AND/OR PREVENTING ULCER, INFLAMMATION, WOUND, HYPERTENSION AND HYPERALGESIA, WHICH CONTAINS AN EXTRACT OF THE MELASTOMA GENUS PLANT AS AN ACTIVE INGREDIENT. THE COMPOSITION IS COMPRISED OF POLAR EXTRACT OF SITOSTEROL 3-0-�-D-GLUCOSIDE, QUERCETIN, QUERCITRIN AND RUTHIN, AS WELL AS NON-POLAR EXTRACT OF �-SITOSTEROL, ?-AMYRIN AND UVAOL. ALSO PROVIDED ARE THE USES OF THE MELASTOMA GENUS PLANT EXTRACT IN THE MANUFACTURE OF A MEDICAMENT FOR THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF ULCER, INFLAMMATION, WOUND, HYPERTENSION AND HYPERALGESIA.
