Abstract

A NON-GLARE COATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE USING SAME IS DISCLOSED. THE COATING COMPOSITION IS OBTAINED BY ADDING A MIXED TYPE SILICATE TO A SOLUTION CONTAINING ALCOHOL SOLVENT OR POLAR SOLVENT, ACID CATALYST AND WATER AND THEN SUBJECTING TO A HYDROLYSIS AND TO A POLYCONDENSATION. THE METHOD COMPRISES THE STEPS OF: COATING THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE PANEL (1) WITH A CONDUCTIVE SOLUTION TO FORM A CONDUCTIVE FILM (2); COATING THE CONDUCTIVE FILM (2) WITH SAID COATING COMPOSITION TO FORM THE PROTECTIVE FILM (3) THEREFOR; BAKING THE CONDUCTIVE FILM (2) AND THE PROTECTIVE FILM (3) SIMULTANEOUSLY, THEREBY FORMING A SINGLE LAYER. ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION, THE REFLECTION BY THE AMBIENT LIGHT WAS REDUCED, THE CONTRAST OF THE CATHODE RAY TUBE AND THE WORKABILITY WERE IMPROVED.
