Abstract

Se provee un metodo y un sistema para detectar el nivel de fluido en un contenedor. El medidor de nivel incluye la primera, segunda y tercera sondas generalmente paralelas que estan colocadas dentro del contenedor. La primer sonda incluye una primer porci6n que esta cubierta por lo menos parcialmente por un material aislante, y un segundo extremo generalmente expuesto. La segunda sonda esta generalmente libre del material aislante y la tercer sonda provee una conexion electrica a tierra. Una unidad electr6nica puede funcionar para medir las caracteristicas electricas de la primera y segunda sondas para determinar una cantidad de la segunda sonda que esta expuesta a un fluido dentro del contenedor.
