Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un proceso para elaborar acido 6-aminocaproico mediante hidroformilacion de 3-pentenonitrilo para producir, 3-, 4-, y 5- formilvaleronitrilo (mezcla de FVN), oxidar la mezcla de FVN para producir acido 3-, 4-, y 5-cianovalerico; hidrogenar el producto resultante para producir acido 6-aminocaproico, acido 5-amino-4-metilvalerico y acido 4-amino-3-etilbutirico; y aislar el acido 6-aminocaproico a partir del producto de reaccion. El acido 6-aminocaproico resultante puede ser ciclizado para producir caprolactama.
