Abstract

Un sistema para la remocion de contaminantes objetivo, como lo son oxidos de azufre, oxidos de nitrogeno, compuestos de mercurio y cenizas, de gases de combustion y otros gases de procesos industriales y procesos que utilizan el sistema. Los oxidos de manganeso son utilizados como el sorbente principal en el sistema para la remocion o captura de contaminantes. Los oxidos de manganeso son introducidos desde alimentadores hacia las zonas de reaccion del sistema donde son puestos en contacto con un gas del cual los contaminantes van a ser removidos. Con respecto a la remocion de contaminantes, el sorbente puede interactuar con un contaminante como un catalizador, reactivo, adsorbente o absorbente. La remocion puede ocurrir en sistemas de una sola etapa, dos etapas o etapas multiples con una variedad de diferentes configuraciones y zonas de reaccion, por ejemplo, alojamiento en forma de bolsa, ciclones, lechos fluidizados y similares. Los parametros de proceso, particularmente la presion diferencial del sistema, son controlados por controles electronicos para mantener una presion diferencial minima del sistema y para verificar y ajustar las eficiencias de remocion de contaminantes. El sorbente que ha reaccionado puede ser removido de las zonas de accion de reaccion para su reciclaje o ser reciclado o regenerado con subproductos utiles y comercializables que esten siendo recuperados durante la regeneracion.
