Abstract

Tecnicas para procesar de manera eficiente canales de localizacion en un sistema de comunicacion inalambrico asincrono (100). En un aspecto, si las estaciones base (104 a, b, c.) no estan sincronizados entre ellas, y el tiempo de localizacion designado de la estacion remota (106), es diferente de estacion base a estacion fase, la terminal remota (106) se puede activar basada en la primera estacion base en una lista de busqueda de readquisicion (712) que incluye estaciones base candidatos con las cuales puede ser conectada la estacion remota. En otro aspecto, los criterios para seleccionar las estaciones base para la evaluacion como objetivos de readquisicion pueden estar basados en la potencia recibida (512) de las estaciones base, asi como su temporizacion (514), y ambos de las cuales se pueden hacer en relacion con aquellas de la estacion base preferida. Todavia en otro aspecto, la terminal remota puede activarse multiples veces en un ciclo de localizacion particular (por ejemplo, un ciclo del cuadro, o un ciclo DRX), si existen una o mas canales de localizacion en estaciones candidato a las cuales puede ser conectada la terminal remota.
