ELECTRICAL COMPONENT OUE UNDERSTANDS ONE
CERAMIC PLATE HAVING A TRACK
RESISTIVE AND / OR RECORDED CONDUCTOR
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to an electrical component comprising an electrically insulating ceramic plate having on one of its sides a resistive or conductive track recorded, the other face of this ceramic plate is in contact with a metal plate intended to be heated or from which it is guided to measure the temperature. The invention also relates to a household steam appliance and in particular to a steam iron having an electrical component of the type mentioned above.
PREVIOUS TECHNIQUE In an apparatus of the type mentioned hereinabove, one of the problems to be solved is to ensure in a durable manner the electrical connection and electrical isolation of the electrical component and its connection in a hot and humid environment, namely to a temperature between 250 and 300 ° C and a humidity rate of 100 percent. The aforementioned component is often fixed on the plate from which it is desired to raise the temperature by means of a layer of glue (for example silicone) which ensures mechanical strength and heat transfer. The electrical connection can be made by means of an association of electrical transmitters and of glued wires or by metallic contacts maintained under pressure against the resistive and / or conductive tracks. This construction has the disadvantage that under the conjugate effects of temperature and steam, the electrical contacts are detached or oxidized: in addition, condensed on the circuit, the steam causes priming at different points of it.
COMPENDIUM OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to remedy the above drawbacks. The invention thus considers an electrical component comprising an electrically insulating ceramic plate having on one of its faces a resistive and / or conductive track recorded, the other face of this ceramic plate is in contact with a metal plate intended to be heated or from which it is desired to measure the temperature, the track has at least one metallized end to establish an electrical connection with a conductive wire. According to the invention, this electrical component is characterized by the conductive wire being welded on the metallized end and then the ceramic plate is completely covered by a metal cap whose peripheral flanges surround the plate and are hermetically fixed to the metal plate by means of of a resin, the side wall of said capote has at least one opening for the passage of the conductor or wires, the opening or openings are sealed by a sealing resin. The assembly of the above arrangements allows the electrical component according to the invention to withstand the temperature and humidity conditions mentioned above. According to an advantageous version of the invention, said cape has a parallelepiped shape whose side faces have a height greater than the thickness of the ceramic plate in order to leave a space between the track and the upper wall of the cape. Preferably, the conductive wire welded on the metallized end is coated with a glue based on epoxy resin. Advantageously, the ceramic plate is glued on the metal plate by means of a layer of glue. According to a preferred version of the invention, the glue layer surrounds the periphery of the ceramic plate so as to simultaneously secure the adhesive of the peripheral rim of the cap on the metal plate.
Advantageously, said glue layer is sufficiently thick to ensure the tightness of the opening (s) of the conductor wire (s). According to another preferred version of the invention said space located between the upper wall of the capote and the resistive and / or conductive track is filled by a resin, this resin ensures the fixing of the cap on the metal plate and the sealing of the or of the passage openings of the conductor wires. In a preferred application of the invention, said metal plate forms part of the sole of a steam iron. The invention also includes a household appliance, in particular an iron having an electrical component of the type mentioned above.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Other features and advantages of the invention will appear in the following description. In the attached drawings given by way of non-limiting examples: Figure 1 is a partial longitudinal sectional view of a soleplate of steam iron having an electrical component according to the invention; Figure 2 is a larger scale view of detail A of Figure 1; Figure 3 is a partial plane view of the ceramic plate showing the resistive and / or conductive track and the metallized ends thereof; Figure 4 is a partial plane view showing the electrical connection of the conductive wire on, the metallized end of the resistive and / or conductive track.
BEST WAY TO CARRY OUT THE INVENTION In the embodiment shown on the appended figures, the electrical component 1 comprises an electrically insulating ceramic plate 2 having on one of its faces (see Figure 3) a resistive and / or conductive track 4 recorded. The other face of this ceramic plate 2 is in contact with a metal plate 3 (see Figure 1) intended to be heated or from which it is desired to measure the temperature. The resistive and / or conductive track 4 has at least one metallized end 5 (two in the example of FIG. 3), to establish an electrical connection with a conductive wire 6. According to the invention, the conductive wire 6 is soldered on the metallized end 5. Furthermore, the ceramic plate 2 is completely covered by a metal cap 8 whose peripheral flanges 8b surround the plate 2 and are fixed hermetically to the metal plate 3 by means of a resin or glue. On the other hand, the side wall 8a of the cap 8 has at least one opening 9 (see Figures 2 and 4) for the passage of the conductor or wires 6, the opening or openings are sealed by a sealing resin. It can be seen on FIG. 1 that the cap 8 has a parallelepiped shape whose side faces 8a have a height greater than the thickness of the ceramic plate 2, so that they leave a space e between the recorded resistive and / or conductive track 4 and the upper wall of the cap 8. On the other hand, in the example shown on Figures 2 and 4, the conductive wire 6 welded on the metallized end 5 is covered by an adhesive 10, for example based on epoxy resin. Preferably, the metalized end (s) 5 is metallized by means of a silver layer. According to an advantageous arrangement of the invention, not shown in the figures, the ceramic plate 2 is glued on the metal plate 3 by means of a layer of glue. According to a preferred version of the invention, the aforementioned glue layer surrounds the periphery of the ceramic plate 2 so as to simultaneously secure the glue of the peripheral flanges 8b of the cap 8 on the metal plate 3. Advantageously said layer of glue it is sufficiently thick to ensure the tightness of the opening (s) 9 of the conductor wire (s) 6. According to another preferred version of the invention, as shown on FIGS. 1 and 2, the space e located between the upper wall of the capote 8 and the resistive and / or conductive track 4 is filled with a resin 11. This resin 11 ensures the fastening of the cap 8 on the metal plate 3 and the sealing of the passage opening (s) 9 of the conductor wire (s) 6. As shown in Figure 2 a resin layer 11 is present between the peripheral rim 8b of the cap 8 as well as between the ceramic plate 2 and the side faces 8 a of the cap 8. As a variant, the resin 11 covers the ceramic plate 2 but does not entirely fill the space e_. According to an advantageous variant, not shown in the figures, the resin 11 also covers the conductive wire 6 welded on the metal end 5. In a simplified embodiment, no resin is stuck in the space e, and the peripheral rim 8b of the binder 8 simply is glued by means of a resin on plate 3. Preferably, the metal plate 3 is made of aluminum. In the example of Figure 1, the metal plate 3 forms part of the heating sole of a steam iron. This heating sole consists of a molded element 12 of aluminum in which a tubular electrical resistance (not shown) is enclosed. To this molded element 12 a shell constituted by the aluminum plate 3 is fixed. A cavity 13 is provided between the element 12 and the plate 3. The electrical component 1 described above fixed to the plate 3 is placed in the cavity 13. The resistive and / or conductive track 4 recorded on the ceramic plate 2 can be used for heat a certain area of the shell 3 of the sole plate. In another application, this resistive and / or conductive track 4 can be used to accurately measure the temperature of the shell 3. In this application, the resistance variation of the resistive and / or conductive track 4 is transformed, for example by middle of a heastone bridge, in an electrical signal that becomes temperature units. The tests showed that the electrical component 1 just described resists remarkably well to different thermal, electrical and mechanical stresses to which the steam irons are subjected. Of course, the invention is not limited to the example just described and numerous modifications can be made to it without departing from the scope of the invention. For example, the cape may have a different shape than a parallelepiped.
POSSIBILITY OF INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION The invention finds its application in the technical domain of household steam appliances and in particular in steam irons.
