Abstract
The present invention relates to a solid deodorant composition containing, as a solidifying agent, a wax mixture consisting of: at least one synthetic polyethylene wax having a melting point higher than 80 ° C and at least one natural wax having a melting point greater than 80 ° C and at least one active deodorant, as well as the use of this composition to reduce sudoral flow and / or mask, improve and / or reduce the unpleasant odor resulting from the decomposition of human sweat by bacteria.
Description
SOLID DEODORANT COMPOSITION Description of the invention Anhydrous deodorant sticks have been known and used for a long time. They offer numerous advantages in relation to other forms of presentation of deodorants, in particular in relation to aerosols. These advantages are, for example, high safety of use and storage, the absence of harmful propellant gases for the ozone layer, a simple and economical packaging, a good stability in the conservation due to the absence of drying phenomena. A combination of two types of waxes is traditionally used as a solidifying agent in the anhydrous deodorant compositions, one having a relatively low melting point, ie less than 80 ° C and another having a high melting point, ie higher than 80 ° C. The low melting wax most currently described in the literature and used in commercial products is stearyl alcohol which has a melting point of 60 ° C. The association of a high-melting wax and a low-melting wax such as stearyl alcohol has as its main drawback the fragility of the piece of the bars that reduces its duration and the deposit on the skin, of important whitish traces or ref. 29777 whitish, susceptible to be transferred immediately on clothing. It has now been discovered that it is possible to overcome
- these drawbacks when using, as the solidifying agent of the anhydrous deodorant compositions, a mixture of waxes free of low melting wax, that is to say, a mixture composed exclusively of waxes having all a melting point higher than 80 ° C. The deodorant compositions of the present invention, solidified by such association of at least two waxes of high melting point, exhibit excellent durability in use and less skin whitening after application while retaining their cosmetic qualities, in particular the good properties in the exhibition such as unctuousness, slip and use. The subject of the present invention is therefore a solid deodorant composition comprising, as a solidifying agent, a mixture of waxes having all a melting point higher than 80 ° C and at least one deodorant active. More particularly, the mixture of waxes of the present invention comprises: at least one synthetic polyethylene wax having a melting point greater than 80 ° C and at least one wax of natural origin having a melting point greater than 80 ° C.
Wax or polyethylene waxes have the function of conferring to the product its necessary properties of exposure, use and displacement. The wax or natural waxes having a high melting point, in association with the first wax (s), reinforce the structure of the bar piece and provide the rigidity necessary to prevent the bars from collapsing. The high-melting polyethylene wax (greater than 80 ° C) used according to the invention is a homopolymer of ethylene or a copolymer of ethylene and of another copolymerizable monomer corresponding to the following formula (1): CH2 = CHR ( 1) in which R represents a linear or branched alkyl chain which can be interrupted by mono- or polyoxyalkylene portions, an aryl or aralkyl radical, a radical -CH2C00H or -CH2CH2OH. Alkyl radicals designate more particularly the methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, decyl, dodecyl and octadecyl radicals. The mono- or poly-oxyalkylene moieties designate preferably mono- or polyoxythylene groups or mono- or poly-oxypropylene groups. The aryl radical is preferably a phenyl or toluyl radical.
The aralkyl radical is, for example, a benzyl or phenethyl radical. The weight-average molecular mass of the high-melting polyethylene wax according to the invention is preferably between about 400 and 1000, more in particular between approximately between 400 'and 700 and preferably approximately 500. According to a preferred embodiment of the compositions according to the invention, the wax as defined above is chosen from ethylene homopolymers, ethylene and propylene copolymers, copolymers of ethylene and of anhydride or of maleic acid, the oxidized or ethoxylated polyethylenes. Among the ethylene homopolymers usable according to the invention, mention may be made in particular of those marketed under the names of POLYWAX 500, POLYWAX 655 and POLYWAX 1000 by the company PETROLITE. Among the ethylene copolymers which can be used according to the invention, mention may be made of the ethylene and propylene copolymers marketed under the names PETROLITE® by the company PETROLITE, the ethylene and maleic anhydride copolymers, • marketed under the names CERAMER® by PETROLITE, the oxidized polyethylenes marketed under the names UNILIN® and UNICID® and by the company PETROLITE and the ethoxylated polyethylenes marketed under the names UNITHOX® by the company PETROLITE. According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the polyethylene wax is a wax of ethylene homopolymer. In the anhydrous deodorant compositions of the present invention the polyethylene wax described hereinabove is associated with at least one second wax which is a natural wax which likewise has a melting point higher than 80 ° C. This natural wax is chosen from among mineral waxes, fossils, animals or vegetables or hydrogenated oils or fatty esters, fatty alcohols or polyoxyethylenated fatty alcohols solids at 25 ° C. Examples of waxes of natural origin in the deodorant compositions of the present invention may be used, microcrystalline waxes, ceresin, ozokerite, candelilla wax, carnauba wax, hydrogenated castor oil, palm oil. hydrogenated, hydrogenated coconut oil. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the natural wax is a high melting point ozokerite. The ozokerite is a fossil hydrocarbon of complex composition corresponding to the solid residue of the evaporation of paraffin-rich oils.
One commercialized ozokerite is the product CEROZO BLANCHE E 626, a mixture of hydrocarbons of 20 to 50 carbon atoms marketed by the company BARLOCHER. The deodorant composition of the present invention contains from 5 to 20% by weight of synthetic polyethylene wax and from 2 to 20% by weight of the natural wax of high melting point. The proportion of polyethylene wax is preferably greater than that of natural wax and the proportion by weight (polyethylene wax / natural wax) is in particular between 10/1 and 1/1 and in particular between 7/1 and 3/1. The deodorant composition of the present invention contains, in addition to the mixture of high-melting waxes, at least one deodorant active. In the sense of the present invention, deodorant active is any substance capable of reducing sudoral flow and / or masking, improving or reducing the unpleasant odor resulting from the decomposition of human sweat by bacteria. It is for example an anti-perspirant compound such as the aluminum and / or zirconium salts, for example an aluminum chlorohydrate or an aluminum zirconium hydrochloride, the alum salts, a bacteriostatic agent, a bactericidal agent , such as 2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxydiphenylether and 3,7,1-trimethyldodeca-2, 5, 10-trienol and different zinc salts, of an odor absorbing agent such as sodium bicarbonate, an antioxidant agent such as butylhydroxytoluene or a mixture of these compounds and / or agents. 3,7,11-Trimethyldodeca-2,5,10-trienol is, for example, sold under the name FARNESOL® by the company DRAGOCO and 2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxydiphenylether under the name IRGACARE®
MP by the company CIBA-GEIGY. Among the aluminum salts, mention may be made of the product marketed by the company REHEIS under the name REACH 301 or by the company GUILINI CHEMIE under the name ALOXICOLL PF 40. The aluminum and zirconium salts are, for example, those marketed by the company REHEIS under the REACH name A2P-908-SUF. This active deodorant or deodorant active mixture is present in a ratio of approximately 0.01 to
40% by weight in relation to the total composition, preferably at a ratio of approximately 0.05 to 25% by weight. When it is an aluminum chlorohydrate or an aluminum and zirconium hydrochloride, it is present in particular in a proportion of 2 to 30% by weight, preferably in a proportion of 5 to 25% by weight, based on the total weight The solid deodorant composition of the present invention can also contain one or more emollient agents These emollient agents have the function of improving the cosmetic properties of the final product, favoring a good sliding of the bar piece on the skin and thus facilitating The application of the deodorant composition The emollient agents are, for example, volatile silicones, such as the product sold under the name DC246 Fluid by the company Dow Corning and non-volatile silicones, such as the product DC556 marketed by Dow Corning, polydecenes such as the product SILKFLO® S366 NF from the company AMOCO, fatty acid esters such as the commercialized product or the company UNICHEMA under the name ESTOL (R) 1517, fatty alcohols, ethoxylated and / or propoxylated surfactants or polyalkoxylated glycol esters or butyl ether PPG (14) (AP Fluid from UNION CARBIDE). The content of emollient agents of the composition of the present invention is generally comprised between 10 and 70% by weight, preferably between 20 and 60% by weight. The deodorant composition according to the invention also generally contains one or more fillers incorporated in the form of very fine particles in the fatty material of the composition. These fillers are chosen, for example, from talc, silica, starch derivatives, clay or acrylate copolymers (EXPANSEL® 551 from KEMANORD) and are generally present at a ratio of approximately 0.1 to 10% by weight in relation to the mass total of the composition. The deodorant composition according to the invention may also contain other adjuvants, such as for example perfumes and / or dyes. Of course, those skilled in the art will choose these complementary optional compounds in such a way that the advantageous properties achieved intrinsically in the deodorant composition according to the invention are not altered or substantially altered by the adjuvant (s) contemplated. The solid deodorant composition of the invention is generally in the form of a deodorant stick. The subject of the present invention is also the use of the compositions described hereinabove to reduce sudoral flow and / or mask, improve or reduce the unpleasant odor resulting from the decomposition of human sweat by bacteria. This use consists of applying preferably the solid deodorant composition on the daily portions of the skin that one wishes to treat, preferably under the armpits. The examples hereinafter, not limiting, illustrate the present invention.
Examples 1 and 2 and comparative examples A and B Four solid deodorant compositions 1,2, A and B presented in table 1 hereinafter are prepared and differ essentially by the nature of the solidifying agents used. Compositions 1 and 2 are compositions according to the present invention which contain, as a solidifying agent, two waxes of melting point higher than 80 ° C. Compositions A and B are compositions corresponding to the state of the art and comprise, as a solidifying agent, a wax with a high melting point (above 80 ° C) and a wax with a low melting point (less than 80 ° C), that is, stearyl alcohol having a melting point of 60 ° C.
Table 1
CEROZO BLANCHE E 626® is a wax of hydrocarbons of 20-50 carbon atoms neutralized and protected marketed by the company BARCOCHER. POLYWAX® 500 is a polyethylene wax with a molar mass of 500 sold by the company PETROLITE. CUTINA® HR is a hydrogenated castor oil marketed by the company HENKEL DOW CORNING 245 FLUID® is a D5 silicone oil marketed by the company Dow Corning. SILKFLO® is a hydrogenated polydecene with a molar mass of 549 sold by the company AMOCO. Each of these four deodorant compositions is subjected to two tests designed to evaluate: 1. its resistance to cutting 2. its static fragility. 1. The cutting test consists of measuring the maximum force (in grams) exerted by a standardized wire, which holds a sample under defined conditions before being cut by this thread. This test is carried out by means of an electronic ruptometer known by L'OREAL RAD and manufactured by the company J.BOULEFFROY (Stress Saint-Denis, France). The sample to be tested is placed for at least 16 hours in a stabilized enclosure stabilized at 20 ± 1 ° C.
The sample is fixed, immediately before the measurement, in the bucket holder adjusted in such a way that the separation between the wire and the piece of bar is equal to 2-3 mm and that the wire is located perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bar to exactly 10 mm from the base (bucket) of it. The minimum force (in grams) required to cut the bar with the standardized wire is measured immediately. 2. The static fragility test consists of measuring the maximum force (in N), exerted by a standard tool (flat surface of a collar), which holds a sample in the conditions defined in advance cut by this tool. This test is also carried out with the help of a ruptometer which has been used to measure the cutting resistance described hereinabove. The sample to be tested is placed for at least 16 hours in an enclosure that is adjusted and stabilized at 20 ± 1 ° C. It is fixed, immediately before the measurement, on the adjustable hanger holder in such a way that the cut piece of bar is parallel to the flat surface of the collar at a distance of 3 mm from it. The minimum force (in N) required for the flat surface of the collar, pressed against the piece, is then measured by cutting the bar and breaking it. The results of these tests obtained for the two compositions of the invention (1 and 2) and the two comparative compositions (A and B) are indicated in Table 2 below.
Table 2
The obtained values are the arithmetic averages ± the type of separation, calculated from 10 measurements. These results show that compositions 1 and
2 according to the invention have significantly better cut resistance and static fragility than compositions A and B, where the latter is also very fragile to allow measurements. It is noted that in relation to this date the best method known by the applicant to carry out the aforementioned invention, is the conventional one for the manufacture of the objects to which it refers.
