Abstract
La invencion se refiere a derivados de 3a-hidroxi, 17-no sustituido de la serie de androstano y derivados de 3a-hidroxi, 21-sustituidos de la serie pregnano. Estos derivados son capaces de actuar como un sitio identificado recientemente sobre el GRC, modulando de esta manera la excitabilidad cerebral de un modo que aliviará el estrés, la ansiedad, el insomnio, los desordenes del humor que amenazan a los agentes GRC activos (tal como depresion) y la actividad de ataque. Los derivados esteroides de esta invencion son aquellos que tiene la formula general estructural (I), en donde R, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, y R10 se definen además aquí y las líneas punteados son enlaces sencillos o dobles. La estructura incluye androstanos pregnanos (R4 = metilo), 19-norandrostanos, y norpregnanos (r4 = H).
