Abstract

Las vacunas orales y los auxiliares de vacuna orales de la presente invencion se producen en plantas transgénicas, y luego se administran a través del consumo de la planta transgénica. Se construyen secuencias de ADN que codifican tanto naturalmente como sintéticamente la expresion de agentes inmunogénicos que son capaces de provocar una respuesta inmune en animales cuando se dan como alimento en plantas comestibles, tejidos de plantas, o materiales derivados de plantas, y se transforman plantas para una expresion estable o transitoria en células de plantas. La presente invencion proporciona el primer método funcional conocido para inmunizar animales por medio de plantas transgénicas, en donde las plantas expresan antígenos bacterianos que actuan tanto como inmunogenos como auxiliares, cuando se da como alimento el material de planta transgénica que expresa los antígenos a animales.
