Abstract
Se proporciona un método mejorado para la elaboracion de hidrotalcita sintética, primeramente mediante la relacion del oxido de magnesio en polvo con un área superficial grande, alumina de transicion en una solucion o suspension para formar un intermediario similar a meixnerita. Este intermediario se pone luego en contacto con una fuente de anion tal como un ácido, y más preferentemente dioxido de carbono, para formar el hidroxido de doble capa el cual se separa de la suspension mediante filtracion, centrifugacion, deshidratacion a vacío u otros medios conocidos. En una base preferida, la alumina de transicion combinada con magnesia activada consiste esencialmente de un polvo de alumina rehidratable que tiene un área superficial de 100 m²/o mayor. Para elaborar compuestos de hidroxido doble relacionados, todavía otros reactivos tales como bromuros, cloruros,ácidos boricos o sales de los mismos se pueden substituir por el gas dioxido de carbono alimentado hacia esta suspension.
