Abstract
Esta invencion se refiere a 2-[4-(5-sustituido-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-ilmetoxi)benc il]-1,2,5-oxadiazolidin-3,5-dionas novedosas, las cuales han demostrado actividad antihiperglicémica en ratones diabéticos (ob/ob y db/db), modelos genéticos de animales de diabetes mellitus no dependiente de la insulina (NIDDM o diabetes Tipo II). Estos compuestos están representados por la Formula (I), en donde R1 es arilo de 6 a 10 átomos de carbono, opcionalmente sustituido por uno a tres sustituyentes independientemente seleccionados de alquilo de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono, alcoxi de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono, fluor, cloro, bromo, yodo, trifluoroalquilo de 1 a 3 átomos de carbono o trifluoroalcoxi de 1 a 3 átomos de carbono; y R2 se selecciona del grupo que consiste de hidrogeno, alquilo de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono, fluor, cloro, bromo, yodo, alcoxi, de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono, trifluoroalquilo de 1 a 3 átomos de carbono y trifluoroalcoxi de 1 a 3 átomos de carbono, o una sal farmacéuticamente aceptable de los mismos.
