Abstract
La presente invención se dirige a un sistema y un método para mejorar la visualización in situ de un sitio específico dentro de un paciente durante un procedimiento médico utilizando fluorescencia. Como tal, el sistema incluye una pluralidad de moléculas fluorescentes configuradas para dirigirse y unirse selectivamente a una o más ubicaciones en el sitio específico dentro del paciente y un mecanismo de entrega para suministrar las moléculas fluorescentes al paciente. Además, el sistema incluye un dispositivo de detección configurado para generar una señal detectable que contiene información relacionada al sitio específico y enviar la señal detectable a un sistema de procesamiento de imágenes para ser vistas por un usuario, como, por ejemplo, un médico. Así, las moléculas fluorescentes mejoran la visualización in situ del sitio específico cuando se ve a través de la piel del paciente.
