Abstract
Se prepara una película de capas múltiples que tiene una orientación en la dirección de la máquina (MDO) co-extruyendo primero una película de capas múltiples, luego estirando la película de capas múltiples en la dirección de la máquina a una temperatura más baja que el punto de fusión de la resina de polietileno que se utiliza para preparar la película. Al menos una capa de la película es una primera composición de polietileno que tiene una densidad desde aproximadamente 0.94 hasta aproximadamente 0.97 g/cc y al menos una segunda capa se prepara a partir de una composición de polietileno que tiene una densidad más baja que la primera composición de polietileno. Esta descripción hace posible la fabricación de las películas que tienen propiedades de barrera sobresalientes (velocidad de transmisión del vapor de agua baja, WVTR, y velocidad de transmisión del oxígeno baja, OTR), y buenas propiedades físicas.
