Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para extraer compuestos aromáticos de composiciones acuosas alcalinas que contienen lignina, que tienen un valor de pH de al menos pH 10, en particular, de al menos pH 11, en especial, de al menos pH 12, caracterizadas porque la composición acuosa alcalina que contiene lignina se trata con carbón activado, el carbón activado se separa de la composición acuosa alcalina que contiene lignina y, luego, el carbón activado se somete a una etapa de desorción a fin de extraer los compuestos aromáticos, en donde la etapa de desorción comprende el tratamiento del carbón activado (i) mediante un solvente orgánico, que consiste esencialmente en uno o más hidrocarburos aromáticos o una mezcla de al menos un hidrocarburo aromático con al menos un C1-C4 alcanol, o (ii) mediante vapor de agua, en donde se obtiene un eluido que contiene los compuestos aromáticos.
