Abstract

Un objetivo de la presente invención es proporcionar una barra de alambre para un alambre de acero, que es excelente en características de fatiga de ciclo bajo y es útil como un material para un alambre de acero de alta resistencia tal como un cable de alambre o un alambre de acero de PC, y para proporcionar un alambre de acero que puede exhibir tales características. Una barra de alambre para un alambre de acero de la presente invención comprende en masa: C 0,70 a 1,3%; Si: 0,1 a 1,5%; Mn: 0,1 a 1,5%; N: 0,001 a 0,006%; Al: 0,001 a 0,10%; Ti: 0,02 a 0,20%; B: 0,0005 a 0,010%; P: 0% o más y 0,030% o menos; y S 0% o más y 0,030% menos, con el balance que es hierro e impurezas inevitables, en el que la barra de alambre tiene perlita como una fase principal, una proporción de área de ferrito proeutectoide es 1,0% o menos y un espesor promedio del ferrito proeutectoide es de 5 µm o menos.
