Abstract
Se describe un método que consiste en (para cada una de una o más células de una red de comunicación celular), transmitir un mensaje de configuración de la medición respectiva a al menos uno de los dispositivos de comunicación inalámbrica, en donde cada mensaje de configuración de la medición comprende una instrucción que el dispositivo de comunicación inalámbrica debe usar un método de medición de la calidad de la señal, particular, siendo el método de medición de la calidad de la señal particular, seleccionado de un grupo de métodos disponibles para la medición de la calidad de la señal que comprenden un primer método de medición de la calidad de la señal, en donde las mediciones se hacen con base en un primer número de símbolos, y un segundo método de medición de la calidad de la señal, en donde las mediciones se hacen con base en un segundo número de símbolos. La calidad de la señal medida puede ser el RSRQ o RRSI, y los símbolos pueden ser los símbolos OFDM. Además, el segundo número de símbolos puede comprender todos los símbolos OFDM, o sólo símbolos CRS. El método además comprende recibir uno o más informes de medición de la calidad de la señal desde un dispositivo respectivo de los dispositivos de comunicación inalámbrica, en donde cada informe de medición de la calidad de la señal comprende una indicación de un resultado de las mediciones de la calidad de la señal realizadas por el dispositivo de comunicación inalámbrica respectivo. En una modalidad diferente, un dispositivo inalámbrico elige seleccionar un método de medición de la calidad de la señal a partir de un grupo de métodos disponibles de medición de la calidad de la señal que comprenden un primer método de medición de la calidad de la señal en donde las mediciones se hacen con base en un primer número de símbolos, y un segundo método de medición de la calidad de la señal en donde las mediciones se hacen con base en un segundo número de símbolos. El resultado de las mediciones de la calidad de la señal puede utilizarse para un procedimiento de gestión de la movilidad; para posicionar el dispositivo de comunicación inalámbrica; un cambio de célula; un traspaso; minimización de pruebas de mando (MDT); planificación de la red, configuración y afinación de los parámetros de la red de radio; para auto organizar la red (SON); monitorizar la red; gestión de interferencias; determinación y gestión de la carga; y control de interferencias inter células.
