Abstract

La presente descripción se relaciona con un proceso para preparar poliéster. El proceso para preparar el poliéster básicamente involucra la preparación del oligómero de isosorbida y del polímero de isosorbida a partir del oligómero de isosorbida. El oligómero de isosorbida o el polímero de isosorbida se copolimeriza después con el poliéster. La copolimerización del oligómero de isosorbida o del polímero de isosorbida puede efectuarse en cualquier etapa de la preparación del poliéster. El poliéster obtenido conforme al proceso de la presente descripción puede usarse en aplicaciones de envasado tales como la preparación de materiales o recipientes de envasado. El material o recipiente obtenido a partir del poliéster de la presente descripción es capaz de soportar una temperatura de entre 60 y 90°C sin experimentar deformación o encogimiento alguno. Además, el material o recipiente obtenido a partir del poliéster de la presente descripción es transparente o tiene un valor de color b* bajo.
