Abstract

The present invention relates to a binder composition for mixtures of sand intended to form foundry molds and male pieces, which provides said male pieces or molds a high initial strength without any adhesion to the post cast piece at temperatures of from about 700 °C to about 1300° C . Furthermore, the composition is less harmful to the environment than the state-of-the-art compositions since they do not use organic compounds of the resin type, which require the use of amines as curing agents.
