Abstract
Se describe un método para mejorar y/o preservar las producciones y/o biomasa en especies de cultivo incluyendo papas, betabel, caña de azúcar, maíz, soya y otros a través de la aplicación exógena de trehalosa y/o derivados de trehalosa en cualquier momento en el proceso de crecimiento tal como antes de la siembra del cultivo, durante la siembra, o durante el establecimiento de la planta. El método, cuando se aplica antes en la producción de cultivo da como resultado una salud mejorada y vigor de la planta madre dando como resultado un producto más saludable teniendo azúcares reducidos de la planta madre.
