Abstract

En la presente se proporcionan los métodos para predecir el estatus de LKB1 de un paciente o una muestra biológica, los métodos consisten en medir los niveles de expresión génica específica respecto a una serie de niveles de referencia que representan el nivel de expresión génica de una muestra tipo nativa, biológica, sin pérdida o mutación del gen o proteína de LKB1, y el nivel de expresión génica de una muestra de referencia con pérdida o mutación del gen o proteína de LKB1. Además se proporcionan en la presente los métodos para tratar y/o prevenir un cáncer o un síndrome de tumor en un paciente, cuyos métodos consisten en administrar una cantidad eficaz de un inhibidor de TOR cinasa a un paciente que tenga cáncer o un síndrome de tumor, caracterizados por niveles de la expresión génica particular.
