Abstract
Esta invención se refiere a un catéter intravenoso para la administración de medicamentos o fluidos al sistema vascular de un paciente, particularmente se refiere a catéteres intravenosos periféricos, centrales y otros tipos de catéter que se coloquen en el sistema vascular de un paciente para la administración o retiro de fluidos. El catéter se forma de una tubería (1) compuesta por un lumen (14) con una pared de lumen (13) elaborada de una matriz polimérica reforzada con nano partículas orientadas en direcciones específicas y de bajo coeficiente de fricción, la pared de lumen (13) se recubre con un recubrimiento (12) elaborado de un compuesto de material de bajo coeficiente de fricción y bactericida. El catéter de material compuesto polimérico con nanopartículas orientadas, de bajo coeficiente de fricción y baja adherencia microbiana de esta invención tiene las ventajas de a) reducir las fuerzas de resistencia o fricción del catéter con los tejidos de paciente cuando este se coloca, b) poseer compuestos de material bactericida que reducen el anclaje de microorganismos en la superficie del catéter y su crecimiento evitando así la generación de infecciones en las zonas de cateterización y c) la orientación de las particular reforzantes brinda al catéter propiedades mecánicas que brindan comodidad al paciente durante el procedimiento de cateterización y todo el tratamiento relacionado.
