Abstract

La invención se relaciona con métodos para producir derivados de chalcona (1,3-difenilprop)-2-en-1-ona) que tiene múltiples sustituciones en un anillo de fenilo. Los derivados intermediarios de chalcona se modifican mediante Catálisis de Transferencia en Fase (PTC) para introducir un grupo alquilo sustituido que se proporciona mediante un derivado de ácido sulfónico sobre un anillo de fenilo que ya contiene grupos sustituyentes sobre uno o dos átomos de carbono adyacentes al átomo de carbono donde se está introduciendo un grupo sustituyente. Los métodos de la invención permiten producir eficientemente, mediante ya sea S-alquilación u O-alquilación, derivados de chalcona que se caracterizan por sus actividades biológicas que son compuestos intermediarios para producir moléculas que tienen estas actividades o que se pueden utilizar para generar bibliotecas de compuestos que se seleccionarán por medio de análisis in vitro y/o in vivo y establecer las relaciones de estructura-actividad.
