Abstract
Esta invención se relaciona con un fruto de tomate con firmeza significativamente aumentada debido a la presencia de al menos un elemento genético (o loci de rasgos cuantitativos; QTL) en la planta cultivada que produce el fruto del tomate, en comparación con el fruto de una planta control de tomate que no tiene el(los) elemento(s) genético(s). Se proporciona, además, una planta de tomate cultivada que produce frutos de tomate con firmeza significativamente aumentada del fruto y un método para detectar los QTL asociados a la firmeza significativamente aumentada del fruto.
