Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una composición para formar un recubrimiento protector sobre una superficie metálica que incluye agua; Cr2(GF6)3 en la cual G es un elemento del grupo IV-B; y opcionalmente al menos un polímero que tiene una pluralidad de grupos de ácido carboxílico y al menos un polímero que tiene una pluralidad de grupos hidroxilo, y/o al menos un polímero que tiene una pluralidad de grupos tanto de hidróxilo como de ácido carboxílico; en donde la composición contiene menos de 500 ppm de iones de metal alcalino y menos de 200 pp de iones de haluro con relación al cromo. También se refiere a un método de formación de un recubrimiento protector sobre una superficie metálica, que incluye poner en contacto la superficie metálica con la composición.
