Abstract

The invention relates to the industry involved in the manufacture of prosthesis apparatuses for the human body and, more specifically, to the industry involved in the manufacture of visual restoration aiding prostheses. The invention consists of an image encoding system for transcorneal stimulation, formed by a video camera, a processor with digital algorithms, and a device known as an electrical stimulator. The system is characterised in that the processor with digital algorithms receives the encoded image and produces a waveform therefrom, and each waveform produced represents the electrical equivalent of a pixel of the image that stimulates the eye. The waveform is established using the following equations: (See figure).
