Abstract

La presente invención presenta un método para recuperar petróleo de un yacimiento subterráneo usando inyección de agua, en donde el fluido de inundación que se usa en el proceso de inyección de agua comprende agua y uno o más materiales de 1,3-propanodiol, oligómeros de 1,3-propanodiol y polímeros de 1,3-propanodiol. Se espera que el uso de 1,3-propanodiol, oligómeros y/o polímeros de éste incrementen la recuperación de petróleo mejorando tanto el índice de movilidad del petróleo/agua como la eficiencia de barrido en los yacimientos con un alto grado de heterogeneidad.
