Abstract
Un proceso para producir compuestos del hidrofluorocarburos representados por la siguiente fórmula: CF3CHFCHm+1Fn en donde m es 0, 1, ó 2; n es 0, 1, ó 2; y m + n = 2. El proceso tiene la etapa de contactar, es decir, reaccionar, hidrógeno con un compuesto precursor representado por la siguiente fórmula: CF3CF =CHmFn en donde m es 0, 1, ó 2; n es 0, 1, ó 2; y m + n = 2. El contacto se lleva a cabo en la presencia de un catalizador sólido y en la presencia o ausencia de un gas inerte. El catalizador se selecciona del grupo que consiste de: Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Cr, Ru, Rh, Ag, Re, Os, Ir, Pt, Au, Sn, y cualquier combinación de los mismos. Para la hidrogenación de 1234yf a 254eb, también puede utilizarse Pd como catalizador en adición a los otros metales anteriormente referidos. Estos metales preferiblemente se soportan sobre un portador tal como carbón activado.
