Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para disponer de materiales de celulosa vegetal, en particular, a un método para preparar un hidrolizado principal hidrolizando los materiales de celulosa vegetal con ácido sulfúrico concentrado. Se mezclan los materiales de celulosa vegetal con ácido sulfúrico, por lotes,, y se obtiene el hidrolizado principal después de la hidrólisis. El mezclado por lotes incluye los siguientes procedimientos: (1) se usa una solución de ácido sulfúrico para disolver parte de los materiales de celulosa vegetal, formando de esa manera un hidrolizado; (2) cuando no se pueden disolver ya más los materiales de celulosa vegetal, se añade sucesivamente al hidrolizado ácido sulfúrico concentrado, con una concentración de más de 80 por ciento en peso; y se añade otra parte del material de celulosa vegetal; (3) y a continuación se repite el procedimiento del paso (2) hasta que se hidrolicen completamente todos los materiales de celulosa vegetal. El método que utiliza ácido sulfúrico concentrado para preparar el hidrolizado principal puede hidrolizar el máximo de celulosa con menos ácido sulfúrico, disminuyendo de esta manera el costo de recuperar el ácido, en proporción al kilogramo de azúcar obtenida mediante hidrólisis.
