Abstract

La presente invención provee una planta de sorgo dulce caracterizada por un contenido de lignina alterado y/o una composición de lignina alterada en comparación con una planta silvestre y esto se logra manipulando la expresión de cafeoilCoA-O-metiltransferasa (CCoAOMT) en particular y de manera opcional O-metiltransferasa del ácido caféico (COMT) en sorgo dulce mediante incorporación de una construcción que comprende una secuencia de ADN asilada representada por SEQ ID NO 2 y de manera opcional SEQ ID NO 1.
