Abstract
Composición aglomerante de bajo costo basada en almidón y agua, y método relacionado de su utilización, para formar corazones y moldes de arena sílica para fundiciones, donde los granos de arena se cubren con almidón y aditivos que hacen a la arena cubierta efectiva para soplar dichos corazones y moldes. Se incluyen uno o más aditivos con el almidón; preferiblementé tripolifosfato de sodio y silicón o Silres BSI6. El almidón preferido es almidón de tapioca. El aglomerante de la invención es altamente competitivo debido a su bajo costo y efectividad para formar corazones y moldes de arena sílica, siendo particularmente efectivo para usarse en fundiciones de aluminio para la industria automotriz.
