Abstract

Un ionomero aromatico ramificado se prepara al copolimerizar un primer monomero que tiene una porcion aromatica y una porcion de alquilo no saturada y un segundo monomero que tiene una porcion ionica y por lo menos una porcion no saturada. La porcion ionica puede tener un grupo cationico que tiene una valencia de +1 o mas grande. El estireno esta entre los primeros monomero utiles y el metacrilato de sodio y el dimetacrilato de zinc estan entre los segundos monomeros utiles. Los ionomeros aromaticos ramificados se pueden utilizar para preparar articulos que incluyen poliestireno espumado y platos y utensilios de ahorro de microondas.
