Abstract

L'invention concerne une composition contenant au moins un composé chélateur du fer et au moins un agent antifongique. La composition peut contenir les composés chélateurs du fer, la défériprone ou le déférasirox. Un agent antifongique incorporé dans la composition peut inclure un agent antifongique du type polyène, un agent antifongique du type azole ou un agent antifongique du type échinocandine. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de traitement ou de prévention d'un état fongique, qui consiste à administrer à un individu atteint d'un état fongique, ou y étant prédisposé, une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'au moins un composé chélateur du fer pendant un temps suffisant pour réduire la gravité d'un état fongique, où le composé chélateur du fer comprend un non-sidérophore ou un non-xénosidérophore relativement à l'état fongique. Un procédé de traitement ou de prévention d'un état fongique conformément à l'invention consiste à administrer à un individu atteint d'un état fongique, ou y étant prédisposé, une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'au moins un composé chélateur du fer et d'au moins un agent antifongique. L'invention concerne également un procédé qui comprend l'administration prophylactique de l'au moins un composé chélateur du fer et de l'au moins un agent antifongique avant le déclenchement de l'état fongique.
