Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de lecture électronique ou e-lecteur, qui comprend un écran (9), une interface utilisateur (10), un discriminateur (11) de direction de lecture et une mémoire (8), chacun connecté à un processeur (7). Le discriminateur (11) de direction de lecture peut fonctionner pour déterminer une directionnalité de lecture d'un système d'écriture utilisé dans une publication stockée dans la mémoire (8). Le processeur (7) peut fonctionner pour recevoir une requête de saisie utilisateur par le biais de l'interface utilisateur (10) et, en réponse à la requête de saisie utilisateur et à la directionnalité de lecture, pour fournir une instruction de tourner la page et d'afficher la page concernée de la publication. Le lecteur électronique peut ainsi fonctionner pour détecter si le système d'écriture utilisé dans une publication électronique est un système d'écriture de gauche à droite ou de droite à gauche et pour fournir la page suivante ou la page précédente appropriée, en réponse à une requête pour tourner la page.
