We’re excited to confirm Sky’s coverage plans for Rugby League World Cup 2026, bringing fans across Aotearoa closer to the Kiwis, Kiwi Ferns and Wheel Kiwis throughout the tournament. Every match will be live on Sky Sport, with dedicated New Zealand build-up, analysis and reaction around key fixtures. Laura McGoldrick and Kirstie Stanway will lead our coverage alongside a line-up of leading rugby league voices, while Te Reo Māori commentary will be available for every Kiwis and Kiwi Ferns match. Media agency bragging rights secured at Sky's annual Agency Quiz. 🏆 This week, Sky's annual Agency Quiz brought together some of the sharpest minds in media for an evening of competition, banter and industry connection. Hosted by the ever-entertaining Andrew Mulligan and powered by our quiz platform, Believe It Or Not Quiz Events (BION), agencies put their knowledge to the test for quiz-night supremacy. A huge congratulations to Lassoo Media & PR, who successfully defended their title to become back-to-back champions. 👏 Their winning team will be heading to our Sky Suite at Eden Park to watch Bruno Mars live in concert. Rounding out the podium were PHD in second place and Contagion in third, proving the competition across agency land is as strong as ever. Sky unveils its star-studded line-up for New Zealand's biggest summer of cricket. The 2026/27 Summer of Cricket will see the BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS take centre stage as India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka tour New Zealand in a blockbuster season of international cricket. Leading Sky's coverage will be an outstanding line-up of cricket voices and experts including Ian Smith, Ravi Shastri, Stephen Fleming, Simon Doull, Sunil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogle, Katey Martin, Ross Taylor, Tim Southee, Shane Bond, Scott Styris, Lea Tahuhu, Russell Arnold and Laura McGoldrick. The summer will also feature several innovations, including the introduction of Hindi commentary for the entire India tour in partnership with Sony Pictures Networks India, alongside enhanced production capabilities such as Raptor Cam and Virtual Eye technology. The latest round of NZ On Air funding has confirmed several exciting projects for Sky that are sure to entertain audiences across Three, ThreeNow and Sky Open. One of our biggest highlights is the return of Wellington Paranormal, with the much-loved comedy officially landing on Three and ThreeNow for its fifth season. After a hiatus, Officers Minogue and O'Leary will once again be patrolling the capital's supernatural underbelly, bringing their uniquely Kiwi humour to a whole new audience. The funding round also backs a fantastic slate of local productions, including: 📺 Ms X Season 2 for Three, following the recent launch of the first season on Three and ThreeNow (episode one of season one out now!) 📺 7 Days 2027, extending the legacy of one of New Zealand's most enduring comedy formats on Three 📺 Earth Oven Season 2 for Sky Open starring Temuera Morrison. We loved bringing the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games to New Zealanders over the last ten days, and it looks like you loved it too: ·        Nearly 1.8 million New Zealanders watched Sky’s coverage, enjoying 12.5 million hours of Games coverage (a 41% increase on the hours watched for Birmingham 2022). ·        Around half a million digital viewers streamed the Games across our platforms, with ThreeNow helping drive a 15% growth in digital viewership compared to Birmingham 2022. ·        The Sky team delivered more than 1,600 hours of coverage across 215 events, including more than 200 live crosses and 403 interviews, previews and reviews. ·        800 social posts on Sky channels generated 27 million impressions, 18 million video views and 2 million engagements. ·        Audiences across 15 Pacific nations enjoyed our coverage, through our sub-licensing arrangement with Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited (PCBL). ·        More than 200 people across Sky contributed to the coverage, including 23 crew on the ground in Glasgow and a phenomenal lineup of studio guests including Dame Sophie Pascoe, Richie Patterson, Dame Valerie Adams, Moss Burmester, Sam Webster and Ethan Mitchell, Tempera Bailey, Sarah Cowley-Ross and Leana de Bruin. Our focus was clear: celebrating the efforts, stories and achievements of the New Zealand Team and Pacific athletes on the world stage. One of the biggest rugby stories of 2026 is almost here. Today, Sky Sport announced its coverage plans for Rugby's Greatest Rivalry Tour, the All Blacks' first full tour of South Africa in 30 years. This is a landmark moment in rugby history, and our commitment reflects the scale of the occasion. Sky will have commentators Jeff McTainsh, Justin Marshall and Jeff Wilson on the ground throughout the tour, alongside extensive studio programming, special guests, and dedicated social content bringing fans closer to the action from South Africa. We're also excited to be partnering with New Zealand Rugby to offer a free Sky Sport Now day pass for the opening match against the Stormers on 8 August. In further good news for rugby supporters, every remaining All Blacks match and Test in 2026 will also be available delayed via Three and ThreeNow, alongside all Black Ferns matches. Bringing a tour of this scale to life takes an enormous effort from teams right across Sky.
