Lucy & Claire is a scam, they are VERY professional when it comes to replying to your issue and it makes them seem legit BUT - inferior material from CHINA, the “Charleston” come on is a lie and when I requested a return - crickets. Do not order from this company!! In addition - L&C just replied to my review and as always were SO attentive but please be aware, it is a SCAM, the two dresses I ordered had NO labels, no instructions for care and took forever to be mailed to me. They are in the garbage because L&C NEVER gave me return instructions and are now aware people have caught on to them. Buyer Beware!!!!

The image online was not the item received. Classic bait and switch. I was offered another item for “free” instead of returning as long as I paid $20 in shipping. Therefore I would’ve paid approximately $70 for two items of clothing worth maybe $25. Do NOT trust this company.

The shipping took a very long time. The quality of the material of the clothing was very poor and not at all like the images on the website. Sizing was off. No labels to describe laundering instructions. Return for refund requires buyer to pay for shipping to warehouse in China.
Terrible experience overall.

I placed an order for a top that appears to be linen or cotton on the website. The item I received is some type of cheap synthetic fabric that does not fall well. In addition the feel is stiff and uncomfortable. The cost to return is almost the price of the garment. Really awful and deceptive.

To begin, I am very satisfied with the dress I ordered.
The first dress I ordered was too tight in the bust, due to my inaccurate measuring. The second dress fit perfectly.
The Customer Service correspondence was immediately the next day.And each time I had to write to Lucy & Claire,due to my carelessness, (due to my ordering the wrong size the furst time and wrong color the second time) was responded to the next day.
My one complaint is that Lucy & Claire do NOT issue a refund. Instead, I was told to keep the misordered dress & send $9.95. I did that, got the dress in the correct color & size. The time from the order to my receiving the dress was reasonable- about two weeks or less can't remember.

Oh how I wish I had read these reviews before I wasted my money. Totally wrong sizing on one item and binding on the sleeves of the other that is so small that you cannot wear it. Never again.

A blouse I received is defective with dye spots in numerous places. The fabric is cheap and uncomfortable. The company states that they will not refund for defective items, only replace them. I would never accept a replacement for such an item. This business is clearly fraudulent. You also have to return
merchandise to Asia at your expense and then they will consider a refund. Bogus!!!!!!

NOT A CHARLESTON BOUTIQUE! I am very disappointed with the items I received-they are certainly NOT what was shown in the photos. Yes, 16 day delivery time because the items are coming from CHINA. No, I do not recommend them and will not order again. SO DISAPPOINTED this scam is designed to look like a small business in Charleston, and obviously many people have been deceived. DO MOT ORDER FTOM LUCY AND CLAIRE.

XL is not true to size….not good quality material….ads were deceiving. I will not order from this website again.

This is a scam retailer. When I tried to return an item they said to pick another item that they would send at no charge. When the 2nd item did not fit I asked for return address, return authorization # and a refund to my credit card. Lucy & Claire refused saying they settled my account when they sent the 2nd dress. I was never informed about the inability to return both dresses even though I followed their website’s return policy steps. Reading other reviews I can see that I would have had to send the items to China! Their website shows a WY address so I reported the company to the State Attorney General’s office and the Better Business Bureau. I lost $60 with this fraudulent transaction.

There are two companies with very similar names: Lucy and Claire, which is legitimate, and Lucy-Clara, which doesn't seem to be. I ordered from Lucy-Clara and received two items. As other posters have indicated, the material was inferior and the sizing was off, and I decided to return them. After I contacted Lucy-Clara to arrange a return, I received a response that I could either keep the items and get a 20% credit, or return the items directly to their warehouse in China which was likely to cost $30-40 for shipping plus customs duties - for items that cost about $65.
The real LucyandClaire reached out to me and explained about the two similar names. Please be careful in ordering from the right company, LucyandClaire.

Horrible experience. I must have been at a weak moment because I know better than to trust unknown online companies. I seriously thought I was supporting a small boutique in Charleston, SC. The material is terrible. The sizing is completely wrong. Refunds and returns are totally worthless. I will count this up as a HUGE MISTAKE.

This company gives you the impression it is a USA based one. It is NOT. it’s directly from China and I have been trying to get a total refund and they keep sending me “goodwill gesture” of 15% refund and I get to keep it to a 30% refund to send it back at my very expensive own cost. You WILL NOT be able to get a full refund from these people.

I agree with many others that this is a Sham company. I have a complaint filed with my credit card. When I got 2 blouses, they were too small and looked like a photo of a pattern printed on the fabric. I would NEVER have bought these if I saw them in person. The say HASSLE FREE returns. They offered 15% credit back then wanted to charge 9.95 for each garment. AWFUL AND DISAPPOINTING! THEY STALLED ME TO GET TO THE END OF THE 14 DAY RETURN PERIOD. WE MUST JOIN TOGETHER AND GET THESE types of companies out of the ability to RIP OFF PEOPLE!.

I purchased two women's tops from Lucy & Clara after seeing one of their Facebook ads. The website gave me the impression that I was buying from a boutique-quality clothing company, but my experience was very different.

The shirts I received looked nothing like the photos on the website. They were made of very poor-quality material, appeared to be synthetic rather than the advertised cotton, had low-quality printed designs, and were significantly oversized despite ordering my usual size Small. The garments also had generic "Made in China" labels and no Lucy & Clara branding.

Another surprise was that my credit card was charged by BEN GLOBAL BUSINESS, not Lucy & Clara.

I contacted the company requesting a full refund because the merchandise was not as described. I am currently waiting for their response, but after researching the company I found many other customers reporting similar experiences, including expensive international return shipping.

My advice is to be very cautious before purchasing from Facebook ads, especially if you are expecting high-quality natural-fiber clothing. I wish I had done more research before ordering.

This company is a scam operated out of China, not Charleston. Although I did receive the clothing after a long delivery wait, the quality is horrible. They appear to be made out of cheap fabric similar to what is used for Halloween costumes. The clothes hang poorly and the fabric smells like petroleum. They look nothing like what was advertised. When I attempt to return, I learned I had to pay the return postage, which was over 200 dollars.

I wrote a review about Lucy and Claire. Advertised as a local mother and daughter boutique out of the US. It is not. It is strictly overseas. With incorrect sizing and questionable material. When asked to return the item you realize you have to ship it overseas and it’s going to cost possibly up to what you paid for your dress. I’m writing this update because I was emailed by Lucy and Claire asking if that my claim had been resolved that I update or remove my review. I have not verified that I received only 30% back instead of returning the dress. This is not a resolution in my opinion. It is a scam. So this is the update. I feel cheated and taken advantage of. I will not remove my review, even though I was asked to.

The clothing is not a comfortable knit, it is clothing with no shape that comes directly to you from China. The descriptions make it seem like you are buying a quality piece of clothing and it is more of the shapeless junk that isn’t made for a woman. Advertisements were very misleading as well as the descriptions. Sizes do not run true and they just say oh sorry. Do not buy from this company.

The quality of the clothing is poor. The sizing was 2 sizes too large on one dress and the other was 6 inches too long, but did fit. Both should have been the same size. When asked to refund it they expected me to send it to China at my expense. So I took the "partial refund" of $18 for a $60 dress. I won't order from them again

Material and construction are very, very poor. Sizing is off. Will be returning.
