One month later
One month later — still no resolution
More than a month later, this is still unresolved.
I subscribed to Shortform because I was shown a free-trial offer. Instead, I was charged MXN $3,999 for the annual subscription. I contacted Apple immediately and then Shortform. Since then, I have been sent back and forth between the two companies, with neither taking responsibility for actually resolving the problem.
Shortform says Apple controls the payment and refund. Apple has told me to contact the app developer or dispute the charge with my bank. Meanwhile, I am still out MXN $3,999.
What is particularly frustrating is that I have made every reasonable effort to solve this directly and privately. More than a month later, I am still being forced to pay MXN $3,999 for a product I do not want, barely used, and would never have subscribed to had I known I would be charged immediately.
A customer should not have to fight this hard simply to undo a purchase made on the basis of a free-trial offer.
I will update this review if Shortform finally takes meaningful steps to resolve the matter. Until then, I cannot recommend the service.

Because this subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store, Apple handles the payment and refund process for the transaction, and we unfortunately don’t have the ability to issue or reverse App Store charges ourselves. We understand that you already contacted Apple and that your initial refund request was denied, and we’re sorry we weren’t able to provide the resolution you were hoping for.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we’re sorry for the frustration this has caused.

Great product for extracting key ideas from books
I really enjoyed my experience with the platform! The content was helpful and in-depth. The only downside, I would say, is that it's very expensive. If you're able to afford it, I feel like it does offer a great alternative to reading an entire book while also acting as a great companion if you choose to read the book and use it as a recap.

Mostly very good
Mostly very good. Has a limited amount that is available in books, but still a good variety. I would like to see more. Being able to tell what's in a video is highly dependent on the video.
