Fire Belgium proposes a great course concerning ETFs investing, it is quite complete and yet very simple to understand for beginners. The course is well structured and has great follow up thanks to monthly zoom calls where we can ask everything we didn’t understand. It covers different brokerage accounts, the different types of ETFs, the asset allocation, and much more. After taking this course, I finally have clarity on what I want to invest in, with which broker, what strategy I need to apply for my needs, and taking action with ease when investing in ETFs. Highly recommend!

Fire Belgium is mainly run by Sebastian, and this gives a very personal experience. The communication is absolutly great. Always possible to ask questions and the answers are very helpful.

The ETF course is very clear and easy to follow, making complex investing concepts accessible even for beginners. I have been following FIRE for some time now but had some specific questions related to my personal situation I wanted Sebastien's opinion on.
I booked 30 minutes to be able to go over them. Sébastien gave clear answers and covered all sides questions I had. There was time over so we covered some other aspects of investing in ETF's.
All in all it went beyond my expectations!

This was a great experience. I got to interact with the FIRE Belgium team as well as with a number of experienced investors, that too in English ( not always easy in Belgium ! ). The insights into the impact on asset allocation of different circumstances, the interaction with JL Collins , and the inputs about upcoming changes in Belgian taxation were all very helpful.

This course is very suitable for complete beginners.
I personally found it very useful to come up with a plan to build supplementary retirement funds, and during the course I also realized the potential index investing could have for my kids and their future. I also learned asset allocation is key in managing exposure to risk.
I now have a much better understanding of how index investing works and I can make the right choices from a Belgian tax perspective.
Sebastien and Toon are very knowledgeable and super responsive to answer any questions. The course is also very well structured.

The biggest take-away for me is that investing can be a piece of cake and is accessible to all wallets. I used to think that to make loads of money you already needed to possess a fortune, but that is not necessarily true. In fact, what matters in index investing, is that you start early. If I had been aware of this before, I would have started investing far earlier.

Before, I had little drive to save money because I had the impression my goals were too hard to reach as inflation and all sorts of costs would only cancel my efforts and no profit could be made.

I am now confident that I can bring at least one of my projects to fruition sooner, which in turn will free up time and energy for other activities I attach a lot of importance to (health-wise and from a social point of view). I also have peace of mind that retirement will be a smoother ride. I will feel less restricted in making donations as well.

The course helped me build confidence in and develop knowledge on clever, stress-free, time- and cost-saving investment methods. I’d recommend it to everybody, regardless of the size of their wallet, who is willing to save money in the long run. Sebastien and Toon are very motivating teachers. Their positive attitude is contagious.

Anyone earning an income would benefit from this training. I've been talking to my nieces and nephews who are still students but are earning an income through student jobs. The sooner you start, the better :-) The recorded courses are pretty comprehensive and understandable. And then there's the human touch, the care for each person's progress.

Before taking the FIRE Belgium course, the biggest fear that I had was the lack of knowledge. Everything sounds so technical and complicated. I did not know about Belgium taxes on investments or any ETF parameters. I felt like I needed a license/certificate to understand these things! The Index Investing course made it so clear and points me to the right resources. Now, I have the confidence to say no to invest through my bank and their outrageous charges and fees. I would recommend this course to anyone, especially early career because you get the biggest benefit when you start early. It gave me the tools to adapt the strategy that I want to take for my personal finance based on my personal situation. It really helps me to start from zero. Did I earn back the money I paid for the course? Yes I did, with the approach taught by Sebastien.

I just had a 30 minute consultation. It was very helpful, Sebastien was open to share everything he knew, he took all his time the help where he could. I liked how open it was, how free to share and to help. It was not a push to sell a product or a service.

I strongly recommend this course for people in Belgium who want to start investing independently (i.e. without a financial advisor). I have found the course materials and the resources (e.g the personal finance tracking tool, the personal investment plan template, the stock and bond ETF examples) extremely helpful to build up not only my confidence but my excitement about starting to invest.
