THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Emo Nagisa = DO NOT WANT.
Akio = GAR and other manly pronouns.
Tomoya = Finally makes a move in the last episode...

Well I didn't expect anything different, it was pretty predictable. The start of the episode sucked, Nagisa was emo. Akio's entrance was cool and all but pretty random. The festival montage was good. And Tomoya and Nagisa confession and closing seen were good. But Im disappointed since I was waiting for a kiss :/.

All thats left is the extra episode, hopefully KyoAni will continue to make KEY games into anime (*cough* Little Busters *cough*) and show a preview in the credits...

I did like this episode, but I wished they hadn't rushed Tomoya's confession so much. They kind of just through it in at the end. Actually, this whole episode seemed rushed. Ah well, I shouldn't be suprised. :D

That was good imo. I liked how when everyone was telling Nagisa that she was the one holding all of their dreams. Touched me a little. Though I did feel that the ending was rushed as well.

Great episode and now one more left.

very good episode
I didn't like the depressed Nagisa very much though
I liked the Aiko and Tomoya speeches
a lil predictable at the end when Tomoya confessed his love for Nagisa
now we will wait and see whats in store for the extra episode
and me hoping for a second season on after story

A nice and sappy ending, but I still enjoyed it. Though now it would seem that Tomoya having the dream the same as the play is completely irrelevant in the anime, unlike in the movie. I'll stick with the series getting an 8, it was a good watch.

props to nagisa's seiyuu for her excellent work in this episode. Nakahara-sama is a master of controlling emotion.

Akio's entrance into the play was awesome, really liked the way this ended. Great series.

Agreed.

I also started crying when Akio came in, but I stopped once she started the play :P Fantastic scene, even if the beginning took up too much of the episode...

Great series, and I still have to say that Tomoya is one of the greatest protagonists ever. But I feel a bit sad; I think he could have been greater, if they had given him some resolution of his own.

This is only thing that disappointed me about this series. What happened to Tomoya slowly falling apart and Nagisa helping to put him back together as well? And then they would have made a perfect couple. They allude to the fact that she's helped him to not hate school, but was his reaction any different when his dad showed up? No :P I was so happy they gave him more background that they usually give male characters in shows like this, but why no climax and resolution for it??

He's still my favourite though :) And I absolutely loved the series. 9/10

The best part was when Akio came into the theater, I cried, but I stopped soon after. It was a good episode, but still not fantastic and amazing like I expected. I liked the confession at the end, but I really hoped for a kiss, which never happened :(

Good episodde, I guess. Nothing really intriguing, so predictable...

As a standalone anime series...Clannad TV's story is excellent. The main problem comes with knowing that there is so much more concerning the story, but we have no clue if KyoAni will make a second season.

The ending itself was nicely done, I thoroughly enjoyed the direct confession by Tomoya. At the same time the ending itself doesn't really leave much when it comes to the foreshadowing of an S2. I was hoping that the ending itself will have some huge cliffhanger that will leave us drooling and mobbing for a second season, but they chose an airtight method that doesn't leave much room for argument.

We got a happy "ending" and everybody loves happy endings. If you aren't versed in the entire story of Clannad, I suggest you don't dig up anymore information unless we receive an official announcement from KyoAni concerning an S2.

With that said, I feel that the contents of the last 3 episodes were made longer than they were supposed to be. With everything said and done, the content of episodes 20-22 could be compressed comfortably into 2 episodes. This episode should have been a setup episode for a Clannad S2...Seriously hoping they pull a D.C.II here...

Remember that episode 22 is the FINAL EPISODE of the Clannad main storyline, hell it even says final episode. The remaining two episodes should be treated as either OVA's or Omake episodes.

Can an anime administrator make the necessary changes and change Clannad from 22/23 to 22/22. This is a done deal folks...and now we wait for Haruhi S2 episode 13? for that teaser commercial for their future projects...xD

Oh I forgot that episode 23 airs next week, maybe kyoani will make another end of episode announcement concerning an S2...so that moar people will pledge their firstborns to kyoani! xD

and is it just me or did Akio turn his little inspirational speech into his own little play? I knew that he was serious, but it looks like an unexpected part of the play if I was a part of the audience. Akio sure can act...and exaggerate things...xD

I must admit I like happy endings but even more I like endings that clear up everything or come full circle of the story. With Clannad, I still felt that there was more to the story and some side stories that need to be finalized.

I was hesitant at first when watching this series b/c it had somewhat a slow start, but it turned out fairly well towards the end. As it stands now, I'd give this series a definite 8/10. Maybe the "side ep" and the OVA will determine a different rating.

This is not the end of Clannad - the way it was done was perfect for all the other necessary things that will need to happen going forward.

To put it another way, don't see this as the final scene, but rather, a perfect end to Act I.

Perfect end to Act I.

That was truly amazing. I had that anime at a 9 for quite some time, but that totally kicked it up to a 10. Akio's speech was a major tear-jerker for me as well. I'm glad to know that there is another episode and the OVA to look forward to. It's kinda cool when you hit the ending and there's still a little bonus afterward.

Nevertheless, I also agree that the ending felt rushed. They threw a lot of stuff in there that they could have easily broken up into two and stuck us with some killer cliff-hanger. I can't wait to see what comes next.

yes the main story is 22 episodes, but since there is an episode airing next week, we decided to count that in as well.

Anyways, this was a good conclusion. I am so happy when Akio came when he did. I don't think I could've stand anymore of Nagisa like that.

I don't know why I'm so disappointed about this episode, but I hated it so much that they messed it up, maybe too rushed or may it be that quite predictable, I was more grateful about Fuko Arc and Kotomi Arc than this "ending".

But I still enjoyed the series, I still hope they will make a sequel to make this up.
Even the disappointment on my side, I will not change my rating of 10/10.
