Hirofumi Suzuki shared thisToday, I conclude my 11 years and 3 months with SAP Japan. Since assuming the role of President and Managing Director in April 2020, we have focused on expanding our cloud business, which has grown fourfold over the past six years - significantly outpacing global growth. We also successfully transitioned from a traditional on-premise, license-based model to a subscription-based cloud model, establishing a strong foundation for our cloud business. None of this would have been possible without the support of our customers, partners, and employees. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us along the way. Looking back, these 11 years have been truly fulfilling. I sincerely wish all our employees continued success and SAP Japan further growth in the years ahead. Starting tomorrow, I will begin a new chapter at Panasonic. I am committed to contributing to Panasonic’s continued transformation and growth as one of Japan’s leading manufacturing companies. I look forward to your continued support.

Hirofumi Suzuki shared thisWe recently held the SAP Japan Kick-Off Meeting 2026 (JKOM). With many colleagues joining both onsite and online, it became an important opportunity for us as one company to reconfirm the direction SAP should take. In the business agenda session, we looked back on our achievements in 2025 and shared how SAP Japan will approach 2026 as “One Team” to maximize customer value. We discussed both our mindset and our concrete priorities. In a time when the pace of change continues to accelerate, we reaffirmed the importance of working across functions and roles, united in our commitment to our customers’ success. In the SAP Transformation Story session, we introduced transformation initiatives originating from Japan, including our COO Development Program and examples of strengthening customer engagement. It was a meaningful moment for all of us to align on our stance that SAP is not simply an IT vendor, but a trusted partner that accompanies customers throughout their transformation journey. We were also honored to welcome Mr. Shinichiro Ide from NEC. He spoke candidly about NEC’s corporate transformation and the value SAP has delivered as part of that journey. Hearing directly from a customer at the forefront of transformation provided powerful insights into the role we must continue to play. During the party, the Japan team that won at the APAC GTMKOM performed a live dance, creating a strong sense of energy and unity as One Team. My sincere thanks to everyone who participated, to all the speakers, and to those who supported the event behind the scenes. In 2026, let us continue as One Team to fully commit to our customers’ transformation and success, and to create even greater value together.

鈴木 洋史 https://lnkd.in/gTwMKbgK As of March 31, 2026, I will be stepping down from my role as President and Representative Director of SAP Japan. Since joining SAP Japan in 2015, it has been an 11-year journey, and I am deeply grateful for the support of our customers, partners, and employees throughout this time. I assumed the role of President during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period of great uncertainty. By prioritizing the continuity of our customers’ businesses and the safety of our employees and their families, we were able to overcome many challenges together. Over the past several years, SAP’s cloud business in Japan has grown significantly, and we have had the opportunity to support many companies on their transformation journeys. This progress has been made possible by the dedication and commitment of each individual employee. Through company-wide mid-term transformation programs such as Japan 2023 and Japan 2026, as well as our continued focus on people development, SAP Japan has strengthened its presence as a trusted partner in driving business transformation. I believe these sustained efforts have led to the strong expectations that SAP receives from business leaders across Japan. SAP will continue to evolve. Until March 31, I will continue to fulfill my responsibilities in my current role, valuing each day and working together with this team through to the end. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone I have worked with, and I look forward to your continued support. Hirofumi Suzuki

Hirofumi Suzuki shared thisHappy New Year. In 2025, even amid ongoing global uncertainty, we saw many Japanese companies continue to invest with a clear focus on future growth. More and more customers are moving beyond cost reduction and efficiency, and rethinking the very way they run their businesses, with AI in mind. At SAP Japan, we have been advancing our “AI-first” and “Suite-first” strategy, helping customers build the foundations required for effective AI adoption. In particular, the adoption of cloud ERP based on Fit-to-Standard and clean core principles has accelerated, enabling faster and more sustainable data-driven transformation. We believe 2026 will be the year when AI moves beyond proof of concept and truly delivers value as a core driver of enterprise transformation. SAP Japan will further strengthen our partner-led model, working closely with our partners to support customers end to end, from implementation through adoption and continuous improvement. We will also continue to focus on sustainability, addressing social challenges, and developing digital talent, supporting the long-term growth of Japanese companies. Wishing you a successful and fulfilling year ahead. Thank you for your continued support. https://lnkd.in/gWcbhR7q #SAPJapan #BusinessAI #CloudERP #PartnerEcosystem

Hirofumi Suzuki liked thisHirofumi Suzuki liked thisBoarding a flight once, I asked the pilot how heavy the responsibility felt — 300 people sitting behind him, trusting him with their lives. He said barely any. Self-preservation matters more to him than anything else, and by design, nobody should have to worry about it. That stuck with me. What do I actually hold myself responsible for in my job? I'm a sales guy. Nobody dies if I fuck up. My accountability stops at my employer and my family and my customers. So I started thinking about who I depend on to just be good at their job. Apart from pilots, two people came to mind straight away: a good plumber, and a good bartender. I don't know their names (although I do know my plumber's name — Jesus). I don't know what's going on in their lives. But when they do their job properly, it makes me genuinely happy — and depending on the night, it might be doing more than that. Who's on your list?

Hirofumi Suzuki liked thisHirofumi Suzuki liked thisWhen people come together, exchange perspectives, and build on each other’s ideas, something powerful begins to happen. This week in Tokyo was a strong reminder of that. We hosted the first APAC All Employee Meeting since Verena Siow became President of SAP APAC. Colleagues from across APAC came together in person and online to reflect on our next phase of growth and how we can create even greater value for our customers. It was a gathering filled with energy and purpose. First, my sincere thanks to Kohei Toyama-sama of Fujitsu for joining us as our guest speaker. Hearing his candid perspectives on transformation firsthand was incredibly valuable. Listening directly to our customers always brings us back to why we do what we do. I would also like to thank Thomas Saueressig and Verena Siow for spending time with us in Japan. Thomas brought a powerful perspective on how we can help customers move their transformation forward. Verena shared a clear direction for APAC’s next chapter and a strong commitment to creating even greater customer impact. It was especially meaningful to welcome this important moment for APAC here in Tokyo as we take our next step under Verena’s leadership. We were also delighted to give Thomas and Verena a taste of Japanese culture. They both took on the kendama challenge, a traditional Japanese cup-and-ball toy. Thomas and Verena gave it their full effort, and their enthusiasm immediately lifted the energy in the room and brought a lot of smiles. Taking on something new, giving it a try, and enjoying the challenge together. I believe that mindset applies to our work as well. No matter how much technology advances, transformation is ultimately driven by people. Trust, open dialogue, and the courage to take on new challenges are what turn change into progress. At SAP Japan, we will continue connecting the strengths of our customers in Japan with SAP’s global knowledge and innovation, and turning that into real business outcomes. Thank you again, Toyama-san, Thomas, Verena, and everyone who made this such a memorable gathering in Tokyo. Japanese version in the comments below. Hirofumi Suzuki liked thisHirofumi Suzuki liked thisLeadership Principle #8: Prioritising Vitality for Long Term Success 💪🏼 Taking a vacation just 3 months into a new CEO role might seem counterintuitive? It’s a privilege I don't take for granted, but a break that provides vital personal replenishment, and equally, invaluable space and time to reflect deeply on our business transformation and the journey ahead. I’m a strong believer that high performance is impossible without a deliberate commitment to vitality, wellbeing and replenishment. True vitality is a deliberate practice. I rely on daily rituals, like sleep quality, nutrition, hydration, and clearing my head with a run or bike ride, all paired with dedicated, quality time, away from the business with family and friends. When these rituals are practiced well, it never takes away from work. In fact, they fuel professional energy, focus, and productivity. A high performance culture aligns our purpose, fosters inclusion, and constantly raises the bar. It also creates an environment of trust and scale, ensuring every single employee has the same opportunity, the space, and the support to prioritise their own wellbeing 💙 You cannot sustain a high impact journey on an empty tank. By protecting our individual wellbeing, we ensure we have the collective energy to support our professional work, give back to our families, and keep playing the bigger game.
