bug report: time in the game is not time in real life. 11-12 seconds in-game for building is about 17-18 seconds in reality. so everything is taking 40% longer than it should.
EDIT: i reached level 10 fort at about the same time as i finished everything else in the game. body clones and exploration are done. another comment says they reached L18 for their fort and still dont have portal. this feels like it needs some balance work. ive got to wait at least half an hour for each fort level at this point and thats with construction research needing almost 300 million runes, and the focus on reducing build time for relics. so ive got about 12 hours? if it needs L20, in which i can do nothing but press the same button every so often. up to this point I was enjoying the game immensely but im honestly not willing to wait that long for even the most imperceptible progress. and thats not counting the above bug making it another 40% longer.
EDIT2: Correction, the hint about building a bigger fort stops at 13, which is a very reasonable point, leaving previous comment for anyone else unsure. the leap to exploration was a bit of an un-explained jump, i only discovered it because i went over every page with a fine tooth comb.
please read all my comments and edits in a positive note, I wouldn’t write this much for a game i didn’t like. If we are talking about martial will, maybe moving it to a separate tab or expansion (or add it to techniques) where after you unlock it, it has like lvl10 - ??? level 25 - ??? level 50 - ??? so we know where the goalpost is. I try not to offer suggestions about game features because its YOUR game, so please disregard for any reason.
EDIT: in the shop i can see several gold cost items from the start of the game, i recently spent a life accumulating the gold needed to buy them and i was unable to purchase them, I think i shouldnt be able to see them at this point?
EDIT2: i love the text transitions when you gain an actual cultivation method, although 120 years of practice and not even a single breath of Qi.... my talent is astounding in its lack.
EDIT3: the longevity technique that requires 0.01 Qi, if you reincarnate while doing it the character defaults to farming (since it doesn’t have any Qi), a suggestion would be to default to cultivation instead.
EDIT4: so ive reached martial will 35, reached 100 in tempering meridians and gained all 10 inheritances. I have no idea what to do now but wait and spend time extending my life to hopefully maybe reach 1 Qi. and yet i still only have sucker punch, am i missing something?
EDIT5: familiarity in everything but sect trial at 25, martial will at 60+ got Qi to 1 did nothing.... am i just meant to grind longevity when it costs 10-15x more per level for 100 levels?
Completely separate from any commentary that has already been said by other people multiple times, but i find it hilarious that it takes about 80 years for the guy to learn enough farming to go from just furrowing the dirt, to also placing seeds properly. Poor guy.
EDIT: suggestion to cap the amount of martial will you can get from any specific enemy. if i buy the 90c knife before i decline too hard i can farm thousands of martial will in a single run, cant imagine 1 shotting some pickpockets would really teach you that much
EDIT2: just acquired sucker punch, its use is both active AND unaffected by time speed up? so you can sucker punch once every decade or so, if your fighting fast
EDIT3: please please please, give me decimals for body. seeing 1 when i have 1.5 at the start is giving me a brain spawn. (or later 2.5 + sucker punch bonus)
EDIT4: being able to turn off two pickpockets after revealing a certain amount of enemies/familiarity would be nice.
EDIT5: I love the "hiring yard" quest (and the little flavour text conversations), but i do feel like there needs to be a time limit on it. as it is now i can technically get hired 20 years after they post the job listing... or even later.
EDIT6: the work task in lower yard is shower as lower sect instead of lower yard/lower stable. while equipment says it is lower yard.
EDIT7: the curve of the game between escort work and hunter work needs a little adjustment. because you dont have anything that needs money i reached hunter without going above level 25 of the first level of escort missions, and fast enough that i still havent completed the stonewall body method, and already gained trail hardened step, i havent really been pushing for "fast" progress.
so there seems to be some bugs at the time of paying the minimum. a couple of times i GAINED almost what the minimum was as just free money. and when i pay the minimum it doesnt take the full amount, i was meant to pay 1.4 mil and had 1.6, but was left with 800k after the payment.EDIT: it seems like it was seperately counting my passive income, and the income i received as seperate things, and only took or gave the difference. ( so if i had 1 million but it calculated i would be short 400k it would only take 400k)
The credit check reducing interest function never actually mattered, the debt was paid off before i could get my credit score high enough; also im not entirely sure what the "sell your car" "sublet your apartment" actually DID.
Still enjoyed it, just left a little confused.
Great game absolutely let down by the magnet collection system.
if i were to make a suggestion, reduce the amount the gems swing back and forth by like 20-30% as just a baseline buff.
then add it either as base or an upgrade to "automatically digest all gems still in the field if you win the map"
9/10 down to 6.5/10
New comment after playing and completing the current clan members.
The "increased brush size" upgrade for knowledge is just a flat mild negative. farming knowledge is not effected by how much of the ink you are spreading, but instead by the skill, and how long you spend doing it. Increasing the brush size currently provides no benefit and a very teeny downside by completing each talisman faster. also "cousing" is actually spelt cousin.
looking forward to new updates to play it some more.
i really like the upgrades that let you farm a small amount of another resource too. feels very rewarding.
Bug reports: full screen doesnt expand the game for me on firefox
When two raindrops hit the cup/bowl/bucket only one counts.
it can take more than one click to access the shop, and in non fullscreen mode submission covers part of the shop/weather/upgrades tab buttons.
after buying more rain per raindrop there is now a thin black line in the background of clouds moving.
in the"shop" tab, the upgrade it took half covers the shop/upgrade/weather tabs.
after buying rain amplifier the actual amount of rain per drop i get seems to have gone down rather than up (bought first upgrade at steel basin)
of course, i haven't had time to play too much so haven't beaten him yet. but im looking forward to the greedy uncle, the jealous brother, the disappointed father and the overbearing patriarch :D and then of course, the families supreme elder! all throwing themselves at you one at a time for maximum aura farming. potentially having the death animation as a face getting slapped would be funny but maybe a bit TOO satirical for the game
EDIT2: oh damn, came back for another round and realised it didnt save my progress. definitely a suggestion for improvement :P
I always like to try "cultivation games", and most of them fall into the exact same track of too many features thrown at you at once, and unengaging gameplay. this was literally the opposite. the mini games follow a similar vein but remain differently enough to provide some longevity. the gameplay unfurls in absorbable pieces, and the game itself is fun.
Suggestions:
Descriptions for the skills on the left. (probably something you already intend to do)
A reward for completing a "letter", although this does counter the "the slower you write the letter the more you get from each letter" so feel free to ignore me.
as a very early build. solid 8/10.
it feels like once you unlock hungry maw/ +damage per kill... the difficulty kinda falls off a cliff, I made it to floor 18 and died, then made it straight to floor 50.
why did hitting level 50 give a key, only for you to have to go BACK to the door, which is instant, to go further/end?
also why do some bosses give mutations and others dont?
Prestige upgrades really dont feel worth resetting progress, and this game needs wayyyy to many clicks, with no ability to reduce them. maybe an upgrade that adds a button beside each ticket that just is "repeat previous purchase of this ticket" so if you picked 2 9 17 18 and 5x, it would just rebuy that instantly, instead of buy ticket, previous, buy.
