Barry Cloonan reposted thisBarry Cloonan reposted thisI recently did a post about how skeptical I/We would and should be about giving up our financial details to the likes of LLM financial planners. (ChatGPT, Claude etc) Cece De Boon created an exciting startup called Bonafi which is a cool AI wealth management platform (not an ad but it helps you manage all your financial affairs in a simple easy interface) But how can you trust something like this? Because Vanta manages their security, compliance & risk management! Congrats Cece De Boon on a great business with cast iron risk management! Seven weeks. Three ISO certifications. Zero nonconformities. That's the timeline Cecé de Boon and the team at Bonafi hit with Vanta, building an AI-first wealth platform where trust isn't optional, it's the product. Barry Cloonan posted thisAfter almost 6 and a half fantastic years at HubSpot, I decided to finish my time there just before Christmas to enjoy my last few months in Australia, before moving home to Ireland last week. A big thank you to everyone who helped me during my time there. There are far too many to name, but a special thank you to all the managers who took a chance on me at different points in my career. Jean-Bernard Baptiste, Jessica Farrell, Brian B., Simon Kinneen, Caleb Buscher, Jackson McCulloch, Kara Dallimore, Liam O’Driscoll I am now re-entering the job market for the first time in almost 7 years! If you know of someone who is looking for a Sales Rep with a proven track record (3x P Club, 11 Promotions, 3x Team Lead) please do put them in touch with me. Or if your company is hiring and you're looking for a referral bonus, I could be your man! Look forward to (hopefully) hearing from some of you soon and excited to see what’s next!

A sincere thank you to Sam Hurd, Oliver Leverett, and Charles Kirkman for putting their trust in me, and to Danielle Bartone for running such a thoughtful recruitment process. Barry Cloonan liked thisBarry Cloonan liked thisI brought my mam and her partner Mick into our Dublin tower for the first time last week. I've been at Salesforce over two and a half years now, and it was watching their reaction to the office — the atrium, the energy of the place — that reminded me just how lucky I am to work here. It also got me thinking about how much has changed since I started. Agentforce has gone from a big idea to something our customers are actually running their businesses on — last years release’s alone is rolling out hundreds of AI, data, and automation advancements, from agentic tools that help IT teams resolve issues automatically to AI-guided shopping experiences that feel like having a personal shopper online. The message coming out of this year's events is clear: AI is moving from experimental to essential — not the kind that sits in a lab, but the kind that works in your sales process, your customer service, your operations. Being this close to it, in Salesforce for over two and a half years, it's easy to forget how fast we're moving. Sometimes it takes your mam to remind you. (Thank god for Mammies). There's never been a better time to be part of it. We've got plenty of open roles across sales and sales development — if you think you'd be a good fit, send me a DM.

A big thank you to the team at HubSpot who worked tirelessly to put this incredible event on, but an even bigger thank you to our team at Centralise. It's an unbelievable opportunity to get to go to UNBOUND, but it does also mean leaving family, friends and normality for a week and spending an inordinate amount of time with your colleagues. It means catching up where you can with work, stepping outside your comfort zone (when you're usually the one behind the screens) and running on very little sleep. It also means that the team at home picked up a bit more work and had a few less people to call upon when needed. You are all amazing, so thank you. You can see from the video it was totally worth it. Until next year, UNBOUND! #HubSpot #Centralise #UNBOUND

All week, I was blown away by the product, the mission, and the people- ElevenLabs is truly building a generational company and I'm honoured to be part of this rocket ship! *highlight of my 1st week at ElevenLabs; getting on stage in front of the whole company on day 4 of my tenure with 24 hrs notice for a new hire panel 🤣

Barry Cloonan liked thisIt’s one thing to know where your security and compliance program needs to go. It’s another thing entirely to have the infrastructure, automation and visibility to actually get there. Josephine Robinson and the team at Codat are a great example of the latter. By consolidating their GRC program onto Vanta, they were able to: → Increase control pass rates from 23% to 60% in under 9 months → Move 90 vendors onto automated review cycles → Identify and revoke 116 instances of excessive access across 1,000+ accounts → Give Josephine back valuable time to focus on trust strategy rather than chasing evidence That last point is particularly important. The best security leaders shouldn’t be spending their time hunting down evidence, manually coordinating reviews or fighting spreadsheets. They should be thinking strategically about risk, trust, resilience and how security enables the business. The right technology doesn’t replace great security leadership. It gives great security leaders the leverage to operate at a completely different level. Well done, Josephine! Frontline sales leadership is not a buffet You can’t just pick and choose which skills you want to load up on and leave the rest for somebody else In its simplest form, sales leadership comes down to 3 things: 1./ Culture 2./ AE Skill Development 3./ Driving Predictable Performace Most sales leaders are doing their best but still feeling like something is always off The team works hard, numbers kind of show up, morale isn’t terrible, but something feels shaky, never really all the way stable When 1 of the 3 is missing, the pressure shows up everywhere else More stress. More firefighting. More second-guessing yourself. You don’t need to be perfect but you do need all 3 from above ^^ working together Which one feels hardest to get right in your world right now?

Sales mid-managers are at the biggest risk in 2026. ICs will still sell. VPs and Directors will own the numbers - and get blamed when they’re missed. So if you’re in the middle, and you’re not adding real value - why do they need you? The role has changed fast. You have to really know your people: who’s blocked, distracted, or quietly burning out. You have to understand your tools: how they connect, how they fail, how AI can actually fix problems. If you can’t navigate the systems your team uses every day, you can’t lead them. You have to understand how sales works as a system: pipeline, conversions, inbound and outbound flow. And you have to communicate clearly. No buzzwords, no corporate tone. Just clarity. The middle layer in sales is under pressure. If you’re not enabling, simplifying, or lifting the team - you’re optional.

Most SDRs don’t fail because they lack skill. They fail because they confuse activity with progress. Early in my sales career, I thought: More calls = more results. Reality? I was busy, not effective. What changed things for me was: • Better ICP clarity • Stronger qualification • Relentless follow-ups Once I fixed who I spoke to and why, conversion followed. Outbound isn’t broken. Undisciplined outbound is.

Cold Call > Cold Email/DM 3 reasons why... 1. 53% of SDRs reported to me they are worried about picking up the phone. - If less are doing it then it's an opportunity to take advantage of 2. 59% of outbound meetings are reported to be booked on the phone - If it's winning, do more of it. Simple. 3. 100% of you CAN make a cold call and win - Calling is a skill. Just requires a bit of effort and discipline to keep doing it until you get good. Cold calling is gunna be THE outbound skill of 2026. What do you think?

Commission isn’t what makes a great SDR stay. Feeling valued does. You can pay someone well and still lose them if every conversation is about: • Meetings booked • Calls made • Pipeline created • Targets missed • What they need to do better SDRs already deal with rejection all day. They don’t need to feel rejected by their own team too. A simple “good job” helps. But strong sales leaders go further. They recognize the behavior behind the result. Instead of: “Nice, you booked 5 meetings.” Say: “You stayed consistent after getting crushed with rejection yesterday, improved your opener, and still booked 5 meetings. Keep doing that.” That teaches the rep what to repeat. Here are 5 things managers should recognize more often: ✅ Consistency Showing up and doing the work even when the results haven’t landed yet. ✅ Improvement A better opener. Better objection handling. Better discovery. Better follow-up. ✅ Resilience Getting 20 “no’s” and making call #21 with the same energy. ✅ Coachability Taking feedback today and actually applying it tomorrow. ✅ Small wins A great conversation, a positive reply, reaching the right decision-maker, or reviving a dead opportunity. Recognition isn’t about lowering standards. It’s about reinforcing the behaviors that create high performance. And the best part? It costs $0. You can have aggressive targets. You can hold people accountable. You can expect more. But make sure your SDRs know when they’re doing something right too. Because an SDR who feels appreciated doesn’t just work harder. They become more confident, more coachable, more consistent — and much harder to lose. Great sales cultures don’t only celebrate revenue. They celebrate the behaviors that eventually create it. ♻️ Repost if more SDR managers need to hear this. #SalesDevelopment #SDR #SalesLeadership #ColdCalling #B2BSales #SalesCulture #Leadership

SDRs don’t need more motivation! They need better systems. The teams winning in 2025 all have the same setup: 1️⃣ Clear ICP + messaging Reps aren’t guessing who to target or what to say. 2️⃣ Zero manual busywork No more hunting for contacts, verifying emails, fixing deliverability, or juggling 10 inboxes. 3️⃣ Automate everything except the human part Pattern-recognition, personalization, and conversations → that’s where reps shine. This is exactly where Instantly.ai fits: ✔️ Clean sending infrastructure ✔️ Verified emails ✔️ Multi-inbox sending ✔️ Auto-warmup ✔️ Reply management ✔️ CRM sync When SDRs don’t fight the workflow, they actually book meetings. Better systems = better results. Always.

People think SDRs just “need better messaging.” Here’s what actually breaks reps long before quota does. You start the day confident. Coffee in hand. Pipeline open. Then reality kicks in. • Spend 20 minutes researching an account that will never reply • Personalise an opener that gets skimmed (at best) • Debate whether the follow-up is “too soon” or “too late” • Re-read the same sentence 6 times before hitting send • Check replies - nothing • Refresh inbox - still nothing • Jump on calls anyway because numbers don’t care how you feel • Get told “bad timing” by someone who was never going to buy • Second-guess your tone, your timing, your targeting • Watch a Slack message say “any updates?” • Convince yourself tomorrow will be different • Log activity. Close tabs. Do it again. No one talks about this part. The mental negotiation you do with yourself all day: “Should I push?” “Should I wait?” “Is this me… or the market?” Being an SDR isn’t just outreach. It’s decision-making under uncertainty, over and over again. That’s the real skill you’re building, even when it doesn’t feel like it. If you’re still showing up, still thinking, still refining, you’re learning faster than you realise. What’s the part of the SDR role that surprised you the most once you were in it? #SDR #SALES
