If you haven't a clue what Open Forest actually does, I can't promise this chart will help - but it certainly looks cool.
Open Forest is a compliance operating system built as close as possible to the source of the rules (legislation etc).
Law firms and accountants do the same thing manually, but they tend to be siloed into individual practice areas, and it's no secret that they are dinosaurs when it comes to tech, for the most part. 🦖
Then there are tech companies, like Xero for example, that are further up the compliance chain. They don't claim to do your tax and accounting, they give you the tools to do it yourself, but you need to know what you are doing. You can spend time learning it but that's time taken away from your actual business. Classic founder mistake.
That is where Open Forest differs - we are a tech platform, but we have put our money where our mouth is. We take on the liability of doing your legal / tax / accounting / company secretarial. You can hand the reigns to us, we tell you what to do and when to do it, so it's super light touch for you.
You can even sue us if we get it wrong 🙃
If you are starting a new business, you are on the clock. You have a year or so before it fails. So what's the plan? Are you going to spend half that time trying to figure out your compliance obligations or are you going to focus 100% on selling your actual business?
As always, this mildly antagonistic post was written using my own brain and fingers in an attempt to help save you from the endless AI slop cesspit that is now Linkedin. Although the image is AI in fairness.
